Flag Hoisting Marks the Beginning of St. George Perunnal at SGIOC Brisbane

The Feast of St. George (Perunnal) celebrations at St. George Indian Orthodox Church, Brisbane commenced with the ceremonial flag hoisting on 3rd May 2026, following the Holy Qurbana.

The sacred ceremony was led by the Vicar, Rev. Fr. Anish Mathew, marking the official beginning of the Perunnal festivities. The atmosphere was filled with devotion and joy as the faithful gathered to witness this meaningful tradition.

Adding to the festive spirit, a vibrant Chendamelam accompanied the ceremony, creating a spiritually uplifting and celebratory ambience for the occasion.

The Perunnal celebrations will continue with further services and gatherings, culminating on 9th and 10th May 2026, bringing together the parish community in prayer, fellowship, and devotion to St. George.
