ASCENT 2026 Youth Camp Continues with Spirit-Filled Sessions and Outdoor Activities
The ASCENT 2026 Queensland Regional Youth Camp continued with great enthusiasm and spiritual fervour as participants engaged in a well-balanced day of prayer, learning, and adventure.
The day began with a serene morning prayer by the lakeside, setting a reflective and peaceful tone for the camp. Following breakfast, participants were divided into junior and senior groups for parallel sessions, with Stefan Chemmachan leading the juniors and Rev. Fr. Shawn P Thomas guiding the seniors. This structure allowed for more focused and meaningful discussions tailored to each age group.
Adding to the excitement, the campers took part in instructor-led outdoor activities, including canoeing and the flying fox, which brought moments of joy, teamwork, and adventure amidst the natural surroundings. After the activities, everyone gathered for lunch before returning to another round of parallel sessions.
In the afternoon sessions, Stefan Chemmachan continued leading the juniors while Rev. Fr. Shawn P Thomas took sessions for the seniors, ensuring that all participants remained engaged in spiritually enriching and interactive learning experiences. The camp continues to reflect its theme of being rooted in faith while fostering fellowship, growth, and joy among the youth.
