Brisbane, 1 June 2025 – The St. Gregorios Prayer Group of St. George Indian Orthodox Church, Brisbane, gathered on Sunday, 1st June 2025, to extend a heartfelt farewell to Rev. Fr. Liju Samuel, his wife Silpa Kochamma, and their daughter Leya, marking the end of their pastoral ministry in Brisbane.

The farewell event was held in an atmosphere filled with gratitude, emotion, and spiritual warmth, as members of the prayer group and parishioners came together to honour Fr. Liju’s significant contributions to the spiritual and communal life of the church.

During his time in Brisbane, Fr. Liju Samuel became known for his compassionate leadership, thoughtful sermons, and dedication to pastoral care. His presence was a guiding force in the growth and unity of the congregation. Alongside him, Silpa Kochamma and Leya were deeply involved in parish activities, endearing themselves to the community.
