Feast of St Gregorios Celebrated at St George Indian Orthodox Church, Brisbane

Brisbane, 3 November 2024 – The Feast of St Gregorios of Parumala was celebrated with heartfelt devotion on Sunday at the St George Indian Orthodox Church in Brisbane. The service was led by parish vicar, Rev. Fr. Liju Samuel, who conducted the Holy Qurbana, gathering the faithful in honour of St Gregorios, a cherished saint of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.

The celebration included a Perunnal Raza, a traditional procession where parishioners, carrying icons and candles, displayed their reverence and dedication to St Gregorios. During the Holy Qurbana, Rev. Fr. Liju Samuel shared reflections on the saint's life, inspiring attendees to embody St Gregorios’ values of humility, compassion, and service.

Observed annually, the Feast of St Gregorios holds a special place in the Orthodox calendar. This year’s commemoration in Brisbane concluded with a community meal, fostering fellowship and unity among parishioners.
