OVBS 2024 Final Day at St. George Indian Orthodox Church, Brisbane

OVBS 2024 Final Day at St. George Indian Orthodox Church, Brisbane

Brisbane, 22 September 2024 – The St. George Indian Orthodox Church, Brisbane, successfully concluded the OVBS 2024 (Orthodox Vacation Bible School) today with a vibrant and spiritually uplifting finale. Day 4, themed "White or Black & White," was marked by a beautiful blend of prayer, celebration, and community bonding.

The day began with the Holy Qurbana, followed by the much-awaited OVBS Rally. Participants, dressed in white or black & white, marched together with pride, showcasing their unity and the lessons they had learned over the past four days. The rally was a joyful and lively affair, symbolizing the culmination of the children's spiritual growth during the program.

After the rally, a reflection session was held where participants shared their thoughts and experiences from the event. The children also got an opportunity to display their talents through skits, songs, and other creative performances, as they proudly demonstrated what they had learned during the OVBS.

The event concluded with the presentation of the OVBS 2024 report, summarizing the highlights and achievements of the program. The day came to a close with the flag lowering ceremony, symbolically marking the end of the OVBS journey for this year.

To wrap up the festivities, everyone came together for a delicious communal lunch featuring tasty Chicken Biriyani, which was enjoyed by all attendees. The lunch provided a perfect opportunity for the participants, parents, teachers, and volunteers to bond, celebrate, and reflect on the success of the event.

The theme "Let Us Pray" (Luke 11:1) has resonated deeply throughout the program, leaving the community spiritually enriched and looking forward to the next year's OVBS.
