¹⁸If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you.

¹⁹If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

²⁰Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his lord.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.

²¹But they will do all these things to you for my name’s sake, because they don’t know him who sent me.

¹⁸ലോകം നിങ്ങളെ പകെക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ അതു നിങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പെ എന്നെ പകെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അറിവിൻ .

¹⁶“Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

¹⁷But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you.

¹⁸Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.

¹⁹But when they deliver you up, don’t be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say.

²⁰For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

²¹“Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.

²²You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.

²³But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most certainly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man has come.

¹⁶ചെന്നായ്ക്കളുടെ നടുവിൽ ആടിനെപ്പോലെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ അയക്കുന്നു. ആകയാൽ പാമ്പിനെപ്പോലെ ബുദ്ധിയുള്ളവരും പ്രാവിനെപ്പോലെ കളങ്കമില്ലാത്തവരും ആയിരിപ്പിൻ .

¹³Israel said to Joseph, “Aren’t your brothers feeding the flock in Shechem? Come, and I will send you to them.” He said to him, “Here I am.”

¹⁴He said to him, “Go now, see whether it is well with your brothers, and well with the flock; and bring me word again.” So he sent him out of the valley of Hebron, and he came to Shechem.

¹⁵A certain man found him, and behold, he was wandering in the field. The man asked him, “What are you looking for?”

¹⁶He said, “I am looking for my brothers. Tell me, please, where they are feeding the flock.”

¹⁷The man said, “They have left here, for I heard them say, ‘Let’s go to Dothan.’ ”

¹⁸They saw him afar off, and before he came near to them, they conspired against him to kill him.

¹⁹They said to one another, “Behold, this dreamer comes.

²⁰Come now therefore, and let’s kill him, and cast him into one of the pits, and we will say, ‘An evil animal has devoured him.’ We will see what will become of his dreams.”

²¹Reuben heard it, and delivered him out of their hand, and said, “Let’s not take his life.”

²²Reuben said to them, “Shed no blood. Throw him into this pit that is in the wilderness, but lay no hand on him”—that he might deliver him out of their hand, to restore him to his father.

²³When Joseph came to his brothers, they stripped Joseph of his tunic, the tunic of many colors that was on him;

²⁴and they took him, and threw him into the pit. The pit was empty. There was no water in it.

²⁵They sat down to eat bread, and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and saw a caravan of Ishmaelites coming from Gilead, with their camels bearing spices and balm and myrrh, going to carry it down to Egypt.

²⁶Judah said to his brothers, “What profit is it if we kill our brother and conceal his blood?

²⁷Come, and let’s sell him to the Ishmaelites, and not let our hand be on him; for he is our brother, our flesh.” His brothers listened to him.

²⁸Midianites who were merchants passed by, and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmaelites for twenty pieces of silver. The merchants brought Joseph into Egypt.

¹³യിസ്രായേൽ യോസേഫിനോടു: നിന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാർ ശെഖേമിൽ ആടുമേയിക്കുന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ; വരിക, ഞാൻ നിന്നെ അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞതിന്നു അവൻ അവനോടു: ഞാൻ പോകാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³Yahweh says: “I have returned to Zion, and will dwell in the middle of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called ‘The City of Truth;’ and the mountain of Yahweh of Armies, ‘The Holy Mountain.’ ”

⁴Yahweh of Armies says: “Old men and old women will again dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, every man with his staff in his hand because of their old age.

⁵The streets of the city will be full of boys and girls playing in its streets.”

⁶Yahweh of Armies says: “If it is marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be marvelous in my eyes?” says Yahweh of Armies.

⁷Yahweh of Armies says: “Behold, I will save my people from the east country and from the west country.

⁸I will bring them, and they will dwell within Jerusalem. They will be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.”

³യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ സീയോനിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിവന്നു യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ വസിക്കും; യെരൂശലേമിന്നു സത്യ നഗരം എന്നും സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ പർവ്വതത്തിന്നു വിശുദ്ധപർവ്വതം എന്നും പേർ പറയും.

²⁰Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;

²¹Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,

²²Woe to those who are mighty to drink wine,

²³who acquit the guilty for a bribe,

²⁴Therefore as the tongue of fire devours the stubble,

²⁵Therefore Yahweh’s anger burns against his people,

²⁶He will lift up a banner to the nations from far away,

²⁷No one shall be weary nor stumble among them;

²⁸whose arrows are sharp,

²⁹Their roaring will be like a lioness.

³⁰They will roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea.

²⁰തിന്മെക്കു നന്മ എന്നും നന്മെക്കു തിന്മ എന്നും പേർ പറകയും ഇരുട്ടിനെ വെളിച്ചവും വെളിച്ചത്തെ ഇരുട്ടും ആക്കുകയും കൈപ്പിനെ മധുരവും മധുരത്തെ കൈപ്പും ആക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവർക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

²¹തങ്ങൾക്കുതന്നേ ജ്ഞാനികളായും തങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നേ വിവേകികളായും തോന്നുന്നവർക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

²²വീഞ്ഞു കുടിപ്പാൻ വീരന്മാരും മദ്യം കലർത്തുവാൻ ശൂരന്മാരും ആയുള്ളവർക്കും

²³സമ്മാനംനിമിത്തം ദുഷ്ടനെ നീതീകരിക്കയും നീതിമാന്റെ നീതിയെ ഇല്ലാതാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവർക്കും അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം!

²⁴അതുകൊണ്ടു തീനാവു താളടിയെ തിന്നുകളകയും വൈക്കോൽ ജ്വാലയാൽ ദഹിച്ചുപോകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുപോലെ അവരുടെ വേരു കെട്ടുപോകും; അവരുടെ പുഷ്പം പൊടിപോലെ പറന്നു പോകും; അവർ സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ചു, യിസ്രായേലിൻ പരിശുദ്ധന്റെ വചനത്തെ നിന്ദിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

²⁵അതുനിമിത്തം യഹോവയുടെ കോപം തന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നേരെ ജ്വലിക്കും; അവൻ അവരുടെ നേരെ കൈ നീട്ടി അവരെ ദണ്ഡിപ്പിക്കും; അപ്പോൾ മലകൾ വിറെക്കയും അവരുടെ ശവങ്ങൾ വീഥികളുടെ നടുവിൽ ചവറുപോലെ ആയിത്തീരുകയും ചെയ്യും; ഇതെല്ലാംകൊണ്ടും അവന്റെ കോപം അടങ്ങാതെ അവന്റെ കൈ ഇനിയും നീട്ടിയിരിക്കും.

²⁷അവരിൽ ഒരുത്തനും ക്ഷീണിക്കയോ ഇടറുകയോ ചെയ്കയില്ല; ഒരുത്തനും ഉറക്കം തൂങ്ങുകയില്ല, ഉറങ്ങുകയുമില്ല; അവരുടെ അരക്കച്ച അഴികയില്ല, ചെരിപ്പുവാറു പൊട്ടുകയുമില്ല.

²⁸അവരുടെ അമ്പു കൂർത്തും വില്ലു എല്ലാം കുലെച്ചും ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ കുതിരകളുടെ കുളമ്പു തീക്കല്ലുപോലെയും അവരുടെ രഥചക്രം ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റുപോലെയും തോന്നും.

²⁹അവരുടെ ഗർജ്ജനം സിംഹത്തിന്റേതുപോലെ ഇരിക്കും; അവർ ബാലസിംഹങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ ഗർജ്ജിക്കും; അവർ അലറി, ഇരപിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോകും; ആരും വിടുവിക്കയും ഇല്ല.

³⁰അന്നാളിൽ അവർ കടലിന്റെ അലർച്ചപോലെ അവരുടെ നേരെ അലറും; ദേശത്തു നോക്കിയാൽ ഇതാ, അന്ധകാരവും കഷ്ടതയും തന്നേ; അതിന്റെ മേഘങ്ങളിൽ വെളിച്ചം ഇരുണ്ടുപോകും.

⁶When they had gone through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia.

⁷When they had come opposite Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit didn’t allow them.

⁸Passing by Mysia, they came down to Troas.

⁹A vision appeared to Paul in the night. There was a man of Macedonia standing, begging him and saying, “Come over into Macedonia and help us.”

¹⁰When he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go out to Macedonia, concluding that the Lord had called us to preach the Good News to them.

⁹അവിടെവെച്ചു പൗലൊസ് രാത്രിയിൽ മക്കെദോന്യക്കാരനായൊരു പുരുഷൻ അരികെ നിന്നു: നീ മക്കെദോന്യെക്കു കടന്നുവന്നു ഞങ്ങളെ സഹായിക്ക എന്നു തന്നോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതായി ഒരു ദർശനം കണ്ടു.

¹⁰ഈ ദർശനം കണ്ടിട്ടു അവരോടു സുവിശേഷം അറിയിപ്പാൻ ദൈവം ഞങ്ങളെ വിളിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നിശ്ചയിച്ചു, ഞങ്ങൾ ഉടനെ മക്കെദോന്യെക്കു പുറപ്പെടുവാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു.

¹Now I would not have you ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

²and were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

³and all ate the same spiritual food;

⁴and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.

⁵However with most of them, God was not well pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

⁶Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted.

⁷Don’t be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.”

⁸Let’s not commit sexual immorality, as some of them committed, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell.

⁹Let’s not test Christ, as some of them tested, and perished by the serpents.

¹⁰Don’t grumble, as some of them also grumbled, and perished by the destroyer.

¹¹Now all these things happened to them by way of example, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come.

¹²Therefore let him who thinks he stands be careful that he doesn’t fall.

¹³No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

¹സഹോദരന്മാരേ, നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ എല്ലാവരും മേഘത്തിൻ കീഴിൽ ആയിരുന്നു;

²എല്ലാവരും സമുദ്രത്തൂടെ കടന്നു എല്ലാവരും മേഘത്തിലും സമുദ്രത്തിലും സ്നാനം ഏറ്റു

³മോശെയോടു ചേർന്നു എല്ലാവരും

⁴ഒരേ ആത്മികാഹാരം തിന്നു എല്ലാവരും ഒരേ ആത്മീകപാനീയം കുടിച്ചു--അവരെ അനുഗമിച്ച ആത്മീകപാറയിൽനിന്നല്ലോ അവർ കുടിച്ചതു; ആ പാറ ക്രിസ്തു ആയിരുന്നു —

⁵എങ്കിലും അവരിൽ മിക്കപേരിലും ദൈവം പ്രസാദിച്ചില്ല, അവരെ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ തള്ളിയിട്ടുകളഞ്ഞു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ അറിയാതിരിക്കരുതു എന്നു ഞാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു.

⁶ഇതു നമുക്കു ദൃഷ്ടാന്തമായി സംഭവിച്ചു; അവർ മോഹിച്ചതുപോലെ നാമും ദുർമ്മോഹികൾ ആകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.

⁷“ജനം തിന്നുവാനും കുടിപ്പാനും ഇരുന്നു, കളിപ്പാൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നപ്രകാരം അവരിൽ ചിലരെപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങൾ വിഗ്രഹാരാധികൾ ആകരുതു.

⁸അവരിൽ ചിലർ പരസംഗം ചെയ്തു ഒരു ദിവസത്തിൽ ഇരുപത്തുമൂവായിരംപേർ വീണുപോയതുപോലെ നാം പരസംഗം ചെയ്യരുതു.

⁹അവരിൽ ചിലർ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു സർപ്പങ്ങളാൽ നശിച്ചുപോയതുപോലെ നാം കർത്താവിനെ പരീക്ഷിക്കരുതു.

¹⁰അവരിൽ ചിലർ പിറുപിറുത്തു സംഹാരിയാൽ നശിച്ചുപോയതുപോലെ നിങ്ങൾ പിറുപിറുക്കയുമരുതു.

¹¹ഇതു ദൃഷ്ടാന്തമായിട്ടു അവർക്കും സംഭവിച്ചു, ലോകാവസാനം വന്നെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്ന നമുക്കു ബുദ്ധ്യുപദേശത്തിന്നായി എഴുതിയുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹²ആകയാൽ താൻ നിലക്കുന്നു എന്നു തോന്നുന്നവൻ വീഴാതിരിപ്പാൻ നോക്കിക്കൊള്ളട്ടെ.

¹³മനുഷ്യർക്കും നടപ്പല്ലാത്ത പരീക്ഷ നിങ്ങൾക്കു നേരിട്ടിട്ടില്ല; ദൈവം വിശ്വസ്തൻ ; നിങ്ങൾക്കു കഴിയുന്നതിന്നു മീതെ പരീക്ഷ നേരിടുവാൻ സമ്മതിക്കാതെ നിങ്ങൾക്കു സഹിപ്പാൻ കഴിയേണ്ടതിന്നു പരീക്ഷയോടുകൂടെ അവൻ പോക്കുവഴിയും ഉണ്ടാക്കും.
