¹⁸No one has seen God at any time. The only born Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, has declared him.

¹⁹This is John’s testimony, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”

²⁰He declared, and didn’t deny, but he declared, “I am not the Christ.”

²¹They asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?”

²²They said therefore to him, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”

²³He said, “I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as Isaiah the prophet said.”

²⁴The ones who had been sent were from the Pharisees.

²⁵They asked him, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?”

²⁶John answered them, “I baptize in water, but among you stands one whom you don’t know.

²⁷He is the one who comes after me, who is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I’m not worthy to loosen.”

²⁸These things were done in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

¹⁸ദൈവത്തെ ആരും ഒരുനാളും കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല; പിതാവിന്റെ മടിയിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന ഏകജാതനായ പുത്രൻ അവനെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁴Now after John was taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Good News of God’s Kingdom,

¹⁵and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and God’s Kingdom is at hand! Repent, and believe in the Good News.”

¹⁶Passing along by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew, the brother of Simon, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.

¹⁷Jesus said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you into fishers for men.”

¹⁸Immediately they left their nets, and followed him.

¹⁹Going on a little further from there, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who were also in the boat mending the nets.

²⁰Immediately he called them, and they left their father, Zebedee, in the boat with the hired servants, and went after him.

²¹They went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught.

²²They were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.

²³Immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out,

²⁴saying, “Ha! What do we have to do with you, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are: the Holy One of God!”

²⁵Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!”

²⁶The unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.

²⁷They were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? What can this new doctrine be? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!”

²⁸The report of him went out immediately into all the region of Galilee and its surrounding area.

²⁹Immediately, when they had come out of the synagogue, they came into the house of Simon and Andrew, with James and John.

³⁰Now Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick with a fever, and immediately they told him about her.

³¹He came and took her by the hand and raised her up. The fever left her immediately, and she served them.

³²At evening, when the sun had set, they brought to him all who were sick and those who were possessed by demons.

³³All the city was gathered together at the door.

³⁴He healed many who were sick with various diseases and cast out many demons. He didn’t allow the demons to speak, because they knew him.

¹⁴എന്നാൽ യോഹന്നാൻ തടവിൽ ആയശേഷം യേശു ഗലീലയിൽ ചെന്നു ദൈവ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിച്ചു:

¹⁵കാലം തികഞ്ഞു ദൈവരാജ്യം സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു സുവിശേഷത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²³അവരുടെ പള്ളിയിൽ അശുദ്ധാത്മാവുള്ള ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ ണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ നിലവിളിച്ചു:

²⁸അവന്റെ ശ്രുതി വേഗത്തിൽ ഗലീലനോടു എങ്ങും പരന്നു.

³⁰അവിടെ ശിമോന്റെ അമ്മാവിയമ്മ പനിപിടിച്ചു കിടന്നിരുന്നു; അവർ അവളെക്കുറിച്ചു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

³¹അവൻ അടുത്തു ചെന്നു അവളെ കൈകൂപിടിച്ചു എഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു; പനി അവളെ വിട്ടുമാറി, അവൾ അവരെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചു.

¹Now Naaman, captain of the army of the king of Syria, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him Yahweh had given victory to Syria; he was also a mighty man of valor, but he was a leper.

²The Syrians had gone out in bands, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little girl, and she waited on Naaman’s wife.

³She said to her mistress, “I wish that my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria! Then he would heal him of his leprosy.”

⁴Someone went in and told his lord, saying, “The girl who is from the land of Israel said this.”

⁵The king of Syria said, “Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel.”

⁶He brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, “Now when this letter has come to you, behold, I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may heal him of his leprosy.”

⁷When the king of Israel had read the letter, he tore his clothes and said, “Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends to me to heal a man of his leprosy? But please consider and see how he seeks a quarrel against me.”

⁸It was so, when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, “Why have you torn your clothes? Let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.”

⁹So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariots, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.

¹⁰Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall come again to you, and you shall be clean.”

¹¹But Naaman was angry, and went away and said, “Behold, I thought, ‘He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of Yahweh his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leper.’

¹²Aren’t Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn’t I wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage.

¹³His servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had asked you do some great thing, wouldn’t you have done it? How much rather then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?”

¹⁴Then went he down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

⁸യിസ്രായേൽരാജാവു വസ്ത്രം കീറിക്കളഞ്ഞു എന്നു ദൈവപുരുഷനായ എലീശാ കേട്ടപ്പോൾ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ആളയച്ചു: നീ വസ്ത്രം കീറിക്കളഞ്ഞതു എന്തു? അവൻ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരട്ടെ; എന്നാൽ യിസ്രായേലിൽ ഒരു പ്രവാചകൻ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അവൻ അറിയും എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

¹⁰എലീശാ ആളയച്ചു: നീ ചെന്നു യോർദ്ദാനിൽ ഏഴു പ്രാവശ്യം കുളിക്ക; അപ്പോൾ നിന്റെ ദേഹം മുമ്പിലത്തെപ്പോലെയായി നീ ശുദ്ധനാകും എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

¹¹അപ്പോൾ നയമാൻ ഏറ്റവും ക്രുദ്ധിച്ചു പുറപ്പെട്ടു: അവൻ തന്നേ പുറത്തുവന്നു അടുത്തുനിന്നു തന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തെ വിളിച്ചു പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചു തന്റെ കൈ ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്മീതെ ആട്ടി ഇങ്ങനെ കുഷ്ഠരോഗിയെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ വിചാരിച്ചു.

¹²ദമ്മേശെക്കിലെ നദികളായ അബാനയും പർപ്പരും യിസ്രായേൽദേശത്തിലെ എല്ലാ വെള്ളങ്ങളെക്കാളും നല്ലതല്ലയോ? എനിക്കു അവയിൽ കുളിച്ചു ശുദ്ധനാകരുതോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവൻ ക്രോധത്തോടെ പോയി.

¹³എന്നാൽ അവന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ അടുത്തു വന്നു അവനോടു: പിതാവേ, പ്രവാചകൻ വലിയോരു കാര്യം നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ നീ ചെയ്യാതെ ഇരിക്കുമോ? പിന്നെ അവൻ : കുളിച്ചു ശുദ്ധനാക എന്നു നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചാൽ എത്ര അധികം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁴അപ്പോൾ അവൻ ചെന്നു ദൈവപുരുഷന്റെ വചനപ്രകാരം യോർദ്ദാനിൽ ഏഴു പ്രാവശ്യം മുങ്ങി; അവന്റെ ദേഹം ചെറിയ ബാലന്റെ ദേഹം പോലെ ആയി; അവൻ ശുദ്ധനായ്തീർന്നു.

⁷Yahweh, the Redeemer of Israel, and his Holy One,

⁸Yahweh says, “I have answered you in an acceptable time.

⁹saying to those who are bound, ‘Come out!’;

¹⁰They shall not hunger nor thirst;

¹¹I will make all my mountains a road,

¹²Behold, these shall come from afar,

¹³Sing, heavens, and be joyful, earth!

⁸യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: പ്രസാദകാലത്തു ഞാൻ നിനക്കു ഉത്തരം അരുളി; രക്ഷാദിവസത്തിൽ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ സഹായിച്ചു; ദേശത്തെ ഉയർത്തുവാനും ശൂന്യമായി കിടക്കുന്ന അവകാശങ്ങളെ കൈവശമാക്കിക്കൊടുപ്പാനും ബന്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരോടു: ഇറങ്ങിപെയ്ക്കൊൾവിൻ എന്നും അന്ധകാരത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നവരോടു: വെളിയിൽ വരുവിൻ എന്നും പറവാനും ഞാൻ നിന്നെ കാത്തു,

⁹നിന്നെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നിയമമാക്കി വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അവർ വഴികളിൽ മേയും; എല്ലാപാഴകുന്നുകളിലും അവർക്കും മേച്ചലുണ്ടാകും.

¹⁰അവർക്കും വിശക്കയില്ല, ദാഹിക്കയുമില്ല; മരീചികയും വെയിലും അവരെ ബാധിക്കയില്ല; അവരോടു കരുണയുള്ളവൻ അവരെ വഴിനടത്തുകയും നീരുറവുകൾക്കരികെ അവരെ കൊണ്ടുപോകയും ചെയ്യും.

¹¹ഞാൻ എന്റെ മലകളെയൊക്കെയും വഴിയാക്കും; എന്റെ പെരുവഴികൾ പൊങ്ങിയിരിക്കും.

¹²ഇതാ, ഇവർ ദൂരത്തുനിന്നും ഇവർ വടക്കുനിന്നും പടിഞ്ഞാറുനിന്നും ഇവർ സീനീംദേശത്തുനിന്നും വരുന്നു.

¹³ആകാശമേ, ഘോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിക്ക; ഭൂമിയേ, ആനന്ദിക്ക; പർവ്വതങ്ങളേ, പൊട്ടി ആർക്കുംവിൻ ; യഹോവ തന്റെ ജനത്തെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; തന്റെ അരിഷ്ടന്മാരോടു കരുണ കാണിക്കുന്നു.

³⁷Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

³⁸Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

³⁹For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are far off, even as many as the Lord our God will call to himself.”

⁴⁰With many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation!”

⁴¹Then those who gladly received his word were baptized. There were added that day about three thousand souls.

⁴²They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and prayer.

⁴³Fear came on every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles.

⁴⁴All who believed were together, and had all things in common.

⁴⁵They sold their possessions and goods, and distributed them to all, according as anyone had need.

⁴⁶Day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread at home, they took their food with gladness and singleness of heart,

⁴⁷praising God and having favor with all the people. The Lord added to the assembly day by day those who were being saved.

³⁷ഇതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവർ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ കുത്തുകൊണ്ടു പത്രൊസിനോടും ശേഷം അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരോടും: സഹോദരന്മാരായ പുരുഷന്മാരേ, ഞങ്ങൾ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

³⁸പത്രൊസ് അവരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങളുടെ മോചനത്തിന്നായി ഔരോരുത്തൻ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ സ്നാനം ഏല്പിൻ ; എന്നാൽ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു എന്ന ദാനം ലഭിക്കും.

³⁹വാഗ്ദത്തം നിങ്ങൾക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കൾക്കും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവു വിളിച്ചു വരുത്തുന്ന ദൂരസ്ഥന്മാരായ ഏവർക്കും ഉള്ളതല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁴⁰മറ്റു പല വാക്കുകളാലും അവൻ സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞു അവരെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചു; ഈ വക്രതയുള്ള തലമുറയിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁴¹അവന്റെ വാക്കു കൈക്കൊണ്ടവർ സ്നാനം ഏറ്റു; അന്നു മുവായിരത്തോളം പേർ അവരോടു ചേർന്നു.

⁴²അവർ അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരുടെ ഉപദേശം കേട്ടും കൂട്ടായ്മ ആചരിച്ചും അപ്പം നുറുക്കിയും പ്രാർത്ഥന കഴിച്ചും പോന്നു.

⁴³എല്ലാവർക്കും ഭയമായി; അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാരാൽ ഏറിയ അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും അടയാളങ്ങളും നടന്നു.

⁴⁴വിശ്വസിച്ചവർ എല്ലാവരും ഒരുമിച്ചിരുന്നു

⁴⁵സകലവും പൊതുവക എന്നു എണ്ണുകയും ജന്മഭൂമികളും വസ്തുക്കളും വിറ്റു അവനവന്നു ആവശ്യം ഉള്ളതുപോലെ എല്ലാവർക്കും പങ്കിടുകയും,

⁴⁶ഒരുമനപ്പെട്ടു ദിനംപ്രതി ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ കൂടിവരികയും വീട്ടിൽ അപ്പം നുറുക്കിക്കൊണ്ടു ഉല്ലാസവും ഹൃദയപരമാർത്ഥതയും പൂണ്ടു ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കയും ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിക്കയും സകല ജനത്തിന്റെയും കൃപ അനുഭവിക്കയും ചെയ്തു. കർത്താവു രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവരെ ദിനംപ്രതി സഭയോടു ചേർത്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

³Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

⁴even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him in love,

⁵having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire,

⁶to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he freely gave us favor in the Beloved.

⁷In him we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace

⁸which he made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence,

⁹making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he purposed in him

¹⁰to an administration of the fullness of the times, to sum up all things in Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth, in him.

¹¹We were also assigned an inheritance in him, having been foreordained according to the purpose of him who does all things after the counsel of his will,

¹²to the end that we should be to the praise of his glory, we who had before hoped in Christ.

¹³In him you also, having heard the word of the truth, the Good News of your salvation—in whom, having also believed, you were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit,

¹⁴who is a pledge of our inheritance, to the redemption of God’s own possession, to the praise of his glory.

³സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലെ സകല ആത്മികാനുഗ്രഹത്താലും നമ്മെ ക്രിസ്തുവിൽ അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ ദൈവവും പിതാവുമായവൻ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ .

⁴നാം തന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വിശുദ്ധരും നിഷ്കളങ്കരും ആകേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ ലോകസ്ഥാപനത്തിന്നു മുമ്പെ നമ്മെ അവനിൽ തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കയും

⁵തിരുഹിതത്തിന്റെ പ്രസാദപ്രകാരം യേശുക്രിസ്തുമുഖാന്തരം നമ്മെ ദത്തെടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു

⁶അവൻ പ്രിയനായവനിൽ നമുക്കു സൗജന്യമായി നല്കിയ തന്റെ കൃപാമഹത്വത്തിന്റെ പുകഴ്ചെക്കായി സ്നേഹത്തിൽ നമ്മെ മുന്നിയമിക്കയും ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.

⁷അവനിൽ നമുക്കു അവന്റെ രക്തത്താൽ അതിക്രമങ്ങളുടെ മോചനമെന്ന വീണ്ടെടുപ്പു ഉണ്ടു.

⁸അതു അവൻ നമുക്കു താൻ ധാരാളമായി കാണിച്ച കൃപാധനപ്രകാരം സകലജ്ഞാനവും വിവേകവുമായി നല്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁹അവനിൽ താൻ മുന്നിർണ്ണയിച്ച തന്റെ പ്രസാദത്തിന്നു തക്കവണ്ണം തന്റെ ഹിതത്തിന്റെ മർമ്മം അവൻ നമ്മോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

¹⁰അതു സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിലും ഭൂമിയിലുമുള്ളതു എല്ലാം പിന്നെയും ക്രിസ്തുവിൽ ഒന്നായിച്ചേർക്ക എന്നിങ്ങനെ കാലസമ്പൂർണ്ണതയിലെ വ്യവസ്ഥെക്കായിക്കൊണ്ടു തന്നേ.

¹¹അവനിൽ നാം അവകാശവും പ്രാപിച്ചു, തന്റെ ഹിതത്തിന്റെ ആലോചനപോലെ സകലവും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നവന്റെ നിർണ്ണയപ്രകാരം മുന്നിയമിക്കപ്പെട്ടതു

¹²മുമ്പിൽകൂട്ടി ക്രിസ്തുവിൽ ആശവെച്ചവരായ ഞങ്ങൾ അവന്റെ മഹത്വത്തിന്റെ പൂകഴ്ചെക്കാകേണ്ടതിന്നു തന്നേ.

¹³അവനിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള സുവിശേഷം എന്ന സത്യവചനം നിങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കയും അവനിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കയും ചെയ്തിട്ടു,

¹⁴തന്റെ സ്വന്തജനത്തിന്റെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പിന്നു വേണ്ടി തന്റെ മഹത്വത്തിന്റെ പുകഴ്ചെക്കായിട്ടു നമ്മുടെ അവകാശത്തിന്റെ അച്ചാരമായ വാഗ്ദത്തത്തിൽ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാൽ മുദ്രയിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹²Now when Jesus heard that John was delivered up, he withdrew into Galilee.

¹³Leaving Nazareth, he came and lived in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali,

¹⁴that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,

¹⁵“The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali,

¹⁶the people who sat in darkness saw a great light;

¹⁷From that time, Jesus began to preach, and to say, “Repent! For the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”

¹⁸Walking by the sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers: Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew, his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.

¹⁹He said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers for men.”

²⁰They immediately left their nets and followed him.

²¹Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. He called them.

¹²യോഹന്നാൻ തടവിൽ ആയി എന്നു കേട്ടാറെ അവൻ ഗലീലെക്കു വാങ്ങിപ്പോയി,

¹³നസറെത്ത് വിട്ടു സെബൂലൂന്റെയും നഫ്താലിയുടെയും അതിരുകളിൽ കടൽക്കരെയുള്ള കഫൎന്നഹൂമിൽ ചെന്നു പാൎത്തു;

¹⁴“സെബൂലൂൻദേശവും നഫ്താലിദേശവും കടൽക്കരയിലും യോൎദ്ദാന്നക്കരെയുമുള്ള നാടും ജാതികളുടെ ഗലീലയും.”

¹⁵ഇങ്ങനെ ഇരുട്ടിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന ജനം വലിയോരു വെളിച്ചം കണ്ടു; മരണത്തിന്റെ ദേശത്തിലും നിഴലിലും ഇരിക്കുന്നവൎക്കു പ്രകാശം ഉദിച്ചു”

¹⁶എന്നു യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിവൃത്തിയാകുവാൻ ഇടവന്നു.

¹⁷അന്നുമുതൽ യേശു: '''“സ്വൎഗ്ഗരാജ്യം സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കയാൽ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുവിൻ”'''എന്നു പ്രസംഗിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.

¹⁸അവൻ ഗലീലക്കടല്പുറത്തു നടക്കുമ്പോൾ പത്രൊസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ള ശിമോൻ, അവന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അന്ത്രെയാസ് എന്നിങ്ങനെ മീൻപിടിക്കാരായ രണ്ടു സഹോദരന്മാർ കടലിൽ വല വീശുന്നതു കണ്ടു:

¹⁹'''“എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുവിൻ; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ മനുഷ്യരെ പിടിക്കുന്നവരാക്കും”''' എന്നു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁰ഉടനെ അവർ വല വിട്ടേച്ചു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

²¹അവിടെ നിന്നു മുമ്പോട്ടു പോയാറെ സെബെദിയുടെ മകൻ യാക്കോബും അവന്റെ സഹോദരൻ യോഹന്നാനും എന്ന വേറെ രണ്ടു സഹോദരന്മാർ പടകിൽ ഇരുന്നു അപ്പനായ സെബദിയുമായി വല നന്നാക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു അവരെയും വിളിച്ചു.

²²അവരും ഉടനെ പടകിനെയും അപ്പനെയും വിട്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.
