⁵Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

⁶“Speak to the children of Israel: ‘When a man or woman commits any sin that men commit, so as to trespass against Yahweh, and that soul is guilty,

⁷then he shall confess his sin which he has done; and he shall make restitution for his guilt in full, add to it the fifth part of it, and give it to him in respect of whom he has been guilty.

⁸But if the man has no kinsman to whom restitution may be made for the guilt, the restitution for guilt which is made to Yahweh shall be the priest’s, in addition to the ram of the atonement, by which atonement shall be made for him.

⁹Every heave offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel, which they present to the priest, shall be his.

¹⁰Every man’s holy things shall be his; whatever any man gives the priest, it shall be his.’ ”

⁵യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു:

⁶നീ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു പറക: ഒരു പുരുഷനോ സ്ത്രീയോ യഹോവയോടു ദ്രോഹിച്ചു മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നടപ്പുള്ള വല്ല പാപവും ചെയ്തിട്ടു കുറ്റക്കാരായാൽ ചെയ്ത പാപം

⁷അവർ ഏറ്റുപറകയും തങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യത്തിന്നു പ്രതിശാന്തിയായി മുതലും അതിന്റെ അഞ്ചിലൊന്നും കൂട്ടി, തങ്ങൾ അകൃത്യം ചെയ്തവന്നു പകരം കൊടുക്കേണം.

⁹യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ പുരോഹിതന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന സകലവിശുദ്ധവസ്തുക്കളിലും ഉദർച്ചയായതൊക്കെയും അവന്നു ഇരിക്കേണം.

¹⁰ആരെങ്കിലും ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചർപ്പിക്കുന്ന വസ്തുക്കൾ അവന്നുള്ളവയായിരിക്കേണം; ആരെങ്കിലും പുരോഹിതന്നു കൊടുക്കുന്നതെല്ലാം അവന്നുള്ളതായിരിക്കേണം.

¹Now Yahweh’s word came to Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,

²“Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach against it, for their wickedness has come up before me.”

³But Jonah rose up to flee to Tarshish from the presence of Yahweh. He went down to Joppa, and found a ship going to Tarshish; so he paid its fare, and went down into it, to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of Yahweh.

⁴But Yahweh sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty storm on the sea, so that the ship was likely to break up.

⁵Then the mariners were afraid, and every man cried to his god. They threw the cargo that was in the ship into the sea to lighten the ship. But Jonah had gone down into the innermost parts of the ship and he was laying down, and was fast asleep.

⁶So the ship master came to him, and said to him, “What do you mean, sleeper? Arise, call on your God! Maybe your God will notice us, so that we won’t perish.”

⁷They all said to each other, “Come! Let’s cast lots, that we may know who is responsible for this evil that is on us.” So they cast lots, and the lot fell on Jonah.

⁸Then they asked him, “Tell us, please, for whose cause this evil is on us. What is your occupation? Where do you come from? What is your country? Of what people are you?”

⁹He said to them, “I am a Hebrew, and I fear Yahweh, the God of heaven, who has made the sea and the dry land.”

¹⁰Then the men were exceedingly afraid, and said to him, “What have you done?” For the men knew that he was fleeing from the presence of Yahweh, because he had told them.

¹¹Then they said to him, “What shall we do to you, that the sea may be calm to us?” For the sea grew more and more stormy.

¹²He said to them, “Take me up, and throw me into the sea. Then the sea will be calm for you; for I know that because of me this great storm is on you.”

¹³Nevertheless the men rowed hard to get them back to the land; but they could not, for the sea grew more and more stormy against them.

¹⁴Therefore they cried to Yahweh, and said, “We beg you, Yahweh, we beg you, don’t let us die for this man’s life, and don’t lay on us innocent blood; for you, Yahweh, have done as it pleased you.”

¹⁵So they took up Jonah and threw him into the sea; and the sea ceased its raging.

¹⁶Then the men feared Yahweh exceedingly; and they offered a sacrifice to Yahweh and made vows.

¹⁷Yahweh prepared a huge fish to swallow up Jonah, and Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

¹അമിത്ഥായുടെ മകനായ യോനെക്കു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു ഉണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

²നീ പുറപ്പെട്ടു മഹാനഗരമായ നീനെവേയിലേക്കു ചെന്നു അതിന്നു വിരോധമായി പ്രസംഗിക്ക; അവരുടെ ദുഷ്ടത എന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

³എന്നാൽ യോനാ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു തർശീശിലേക്കു ഔടിപ്പോകേണ്ടതിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു യാഫോവിലേക്കു ചെന്നു, തർശീശിലേക്കു പോകുന്ന ഒരു കപ്പൽ കണ്ടു കൂലി കൊടുത്തു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു അവരോടുകൂടെ തർശീശിലേക്കു പോയ്ക്കളവാൻ അതിൽ കയറി.

⁴യഹോവയോ സമുദ്രത്തിൽ ഒരു പെരുങ്കാറ്റു അടിപ്പിച്ചു; കപ്പൽ തകർന്നു പോകുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം സമുദ്രത്തിൽ വലിയൊരു കോൾ ഉണ്ടായി.

⁵കപ്പൽക്കാർ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു ഔരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ ദേവനോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു; കപ്പലിന്നു ഭാരം കുറെക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവർ അതിലെ ചരകൂ സമുദ്രത്തിൽ എറിഞ്ഞുകളഞ്ഞു. യോനയോ കപ്പലിന്റെ അടിത്തട്ടിൽ ഇറങ്ങി കിടന്നു നല്ലവണ്ണം ഉറങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു.

⁶കപ്പൽപ്രമാണി അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു അവനോടു: നീ ഉറങ്ങുന്നതു എന്തു? എഴുന്നേറ്റു നിന്റെ ദൈവത്തെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്ക; നാം നശിച്ചുപോകാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ദൈവം പക്ഷേ നമ്മെ കടാക്ഷിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁷അനന്തരം അവർ: വരുവിൻ ; ആരുടെ നിമിത്തം ഈ അനർത്ഥം നമ്മുടെമേൽ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു നാം ചീട്ടിടുക എന്നു തമ്മിൽ തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവർ ചീട്ടിട്ടു; ചീട്ടു യോനെക്കു വീണു.

⁸അവർ അവനോടു: ആരുടെനിമിത്തം ഈ അനർത്ഥം നമ്മുടെമേൽ വന്നു എന്നു നീ പറഞ്ഞുതരേണം; നിന്റെ തൊഴിൽ എന്തു? നീ എവിടെനിന്നു വരുന്നു? നിന്റെ നാടു ഏതു? നീ ഏതു ജാതിക്കാരൻ ? എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

⁹അതിന്നു അവൻ അവരോടു: ഞാൻ ഒരു എബ്രായൻ , കടലും കരയും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ സ്വർഗ്ഗീയദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഞാൻ ഭജിച്ചുവരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁰ആ പുരുഷന്മാർ അത്യന്തം ഭയപ്പെട്ടു അവനോടു: നീ എന്തിന്നു അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ അവരോടു അറിയിച്ചിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽനിന്നു ഔടിപ്പോകുന്നു എന്നു അവർ അറിഞ്ഞു.

¹¹എന്നാൽ സമുദ്രം മേലക്കുമേൽ അധികം കോപിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ അവനോടു: സമുദ്രം അടങ്ങുവാന്തക്കവണ്ണം ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്നോടു എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

¹²അവൻ അവരോടു: എന്നെ എടുത്തു സമുദ്രത്തിൽ ഇട്ടുകളവിൻ ; അപ്പോൾ സമുദ്രം അടങ്ങും; എന്റെ നിമിത്തം ഈ വലിയ കോൾ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹³എന്നാൽ അവർ കരെക്കു അടുക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മുറുകെ തണ്ടുവലിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും സമുദ്രം കോപിച്ചു കോൾ പെരുകി വന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവർക്കും സാധിച്ചില്ല.

¹⁴അവർ യഹോവയോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു: അയ്യോ യഹോവേ, ഈ മനുഷ്യന്റെ ജീവൻ നിമിത്തം ഞങ്ങൾ നശിച്ചുപോകരുതേ; നിർദ്ദോഷരക്തം ചൊരിയിച്ച കുറ്റം ഞങ്ങളുടെമേൽ വരുത്തരുതേ; യഹോവേ, നിനക്കു ഇഷ്ടമായതു പോലെ നീ ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു

¹⁵പിന്നെ അവർ യോനയെ എടുത്തു സമുദ്രത്തിൽ ഇട്ടുകളകയും സമുദ്രത്തിന്റെ കോപം അടങ്ങുകയും ചെയ്തു.

¹⁶അപ്പോൾ അവർ യഹോവയെ അത്യന്തം ഭയപ്പെട്ടു യഹോവേക്കു യാഗം കഴിച്ചു നേർച്ചകളും നേർന്നു.

¹⁷യോനയെ വിഴുങ്ങേണ്ടതിന്നു യഹോവ ഒരു മഹാമത്സ്യത്തെ കല്പിച്ചാക്കിയിരുന്നു. അങ്ങനെ യോനാ മൂന്നു രാവും മൂന്നു പകലും മത്സ്യത്തിന്റെ വയറ്റിൽ കിടന്നു.

¹⁷The land of Judah will become a terror to Egypt. Everyone to whom mention is made of it will be afraid, because of the plans of Yahweh of Armies, which he determines against it.

¹⁸In that day, there will be five cities in the land of Egypt that speak the language of Canaan, and swear to Yahweh of Armies. One will be called “The city of destruction.”

¹⁹In that day, there will be an altar to Yahweh in the middle of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to Yahweh at its border.

²⁰It will be for a sign and for a witness to Yahweh of Armies in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to Yahweh because of oppressors, and he will send them a savior and a defender, and he will deliver them.

²¹Yahweh will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know Yahweh in that day. Yes, they will worship with sacrifice and offering, and will vow a vow to Yahweh, and will perform it.

²²Yahweh will strike Egypt, striking and healing. They will return to Yahweh, and he will be entreated by them, and will heal them.

¹⁷യെഹൂദാദേശം മിസ്രയീമിന്നു ഭയങ്കരമായിരിക്കും; അതിന്റെ പേർ പറഞ്ഞുകേൾക്കുന്നവരൊക്കെയും സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവ അതിന്നു വിരോധമായി നിർണ്ണയിച്ച നിർണ്ണയംനിമിത്തം ഭയപ്പെടും.

⁶When they had gone through the island to Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew whose name was Bar Jesus,

⁷who was with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of understanding. This man summoned Barnabas and Saul, and sought to hear the word of God.

⁸But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith.

⁹But Saul, who is also called Paul, filled with the Holy Spirit, fastened his eyes on him

¹⁰and said, “You son of the devil, full of all deceit and all cunning, you enemy of all righteousness, will you not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?

¹¹Now, behold, the hand of the Lord is on you, and you will be blind, not seeing the sun for a season!”

¹²Then the proconsul, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the teaching of the Lord.

⁶അവർ ദ്വീപിൽകൂടി പാഫൊസ്വരെ ചെന്നപ്പോൾ ബർയേശു എന്നു പേരുള്ള യെഹൂദനായി കള്ള പ്രവാചകനായോരു വിദ്വാനെ കണ്ടു.

³We give thanks to God the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

⁴having heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love which you have toward all the saints,

⁵because of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, of which you heard before in the word of the truth of the Good News

⁶which has come to you, even as it is in all the world and is bearing fruit and growing, as it does in you also, since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth,

⁷even as you learned from Epaphras our beloved fellow servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on your behalf,

⁸who also declared to us your love in the Spirit.

⁹For this cause, we also, since the day we heard this, don’t cease praying and making requests for you, that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,

¹⁰that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God,

¹¹strengthened with all power, according to the might of his glory, for all endurance and perseverance with joy,

¹²giving thanks to the Father, who made us fit to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light,

¹³who delivered us out of the power of darkness, and translated us into the Kingdom of the Son of his love,

³സുവിശേഷത്തിന്റെ സത്യവചനത്തിൽ നിങ്ങൾ മുമ്പു കേട്ടതായി സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു സംഗ്രഹിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന പ്രത്യാശനിമിത്തം,

⁴ക്രിസ്തുയേശുവിൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ വിശ്വാസത്തെയും സകലവിശുദ്ധന്മാരോടും നിങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള സ്നേഹത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു ഞങ്ങൾ കേട്ടിട്ടു നിങ്ങൾക്കു വേണ്ടി പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കയിൽ എപ്പോഴും

⁵നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ പിതാവായ ദൈവത്തിന്നു സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

⁶ആ സുവിശേഷം സർവലോകത്തിലും എന്നപോലെ നിങ്ങുടെ അടുക്കലും എത്തി; നിങ്ങൾ ദൈവകൃപയെ യഥാർത്ഥമായി കേട്ടറിഞ്ഞ നാൾമുതൽ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ എന്നപോലെ സർവ്വലോകത്തിലും ഫലം കായിച്ചും വർദ്ധിച്ചും വരുന്നു.

⁷ഇങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ ഞങ്ങളുടെ പ്രിയ സഹഭൃത്യനായ എപ്പഫ്രാസിനോടു പഠിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ; അവൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു വേണ്ടി ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ വിശ്വസ്ത ശുശ്രൂഷകനും നിങ്ങൾക്കു ആത്മാവിനാലുള്ള സ്നേഹം ഞങ്ങളോടു അറിയിച്ചവനും ആകുന്നു.

⁹അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞങ്ങൾ അതു കേട്ട നാൾ മുതൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു വേണ്ടി ഇടവിടാതെ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁰നിങ്ങൾ പൂർണ്ണപ്രസാദത്തിന്നായി കർത്താവിന്നു യോഗ്യമാകുംവണ്ണം നടന്നു, ആത്മികമായ സകല ജ്ഞാനത്തിലും വിവേകത്തിലും അവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടത്തിന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനംകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞുവരേണം എന്നും സകല സൽപ്രവൃത്തിയിലും ഫലം കായിച്ചു ദൈവത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പരിജ്ഞാനത്തിൽ വളരേണമെന്നും

¹¹സകല സഹിഷ്ണുതെക്കും ദീർഘക്ഷമെക്കുമായി അവന്റെ മഹത്വത്തിന്റെ വല്ലഭത്വത്തിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം പൂർണ്ണശക്തിയോടെ ബലപ്പെടേണമെന്നും

¹²വിശുദ്ധന്മാർക്കും വെളിച്ചത്തിലുള്ള അവകാശത്തിന്നായി നമ്മെ പ്രാപ്തന്മാരാക്കുകയും

¹³നമ്മെ ഇരുട്ടിന്റെ അധികാരത്തിൽ നിന്നു വിടുവിച്ചു തന്റെ സ്നേഹസ്വരൂപനായ പുത്രന്റെ രാജ്യത്തിലാക്കിവെക്കുകയും ചെയ്ത പിതാവിന്നു സന്തോഷത്തോടെ സ്തോത്രം ചെയ്യുന്നവരാകേണം എന്നും അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

¹“Don’t judge, so that you won’t be judged.

²For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you.

³Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye?

⁴Or how will you tell your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye,’ and behold, the beam is in your own eye?

⁵You hypocrite! First remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother’s eye.

⁶“Don’t give that which is holy to the dogs, neither throw your pearls before the pigs, lest perhaps they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.

⁷“Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.

⁸For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.

⁹Or who is there among you who, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?

¹⁰Or if he asks for a fish, who will give him a serpent?

¹¹If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

¹²Therefore, whatever you desire for men to do to you, you shall also do to them; for this is the law and the prophets.

⁴⁰For as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the huge fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

⁴¹The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation and will condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and behold, someone greater than Jonah is here.
