²⁰Then he began to denounce the cities in which most of his mighty works had been done, because they didn’t repent.

²¹“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon which were done in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

²²But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.

²³You, Capernaum, who are exalted to heaven, you will go down to Hades. For if the mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in you, it would have remained until today.

²⁴But I tell you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom on the day of judgment, than for you.”

²⁰പിന്നെ അവൻ തന്റെ വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികൾ മിക്കതും നടന്ന പട്ടണങ്ങൾ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടായ്കയാൽ അവയെ ശാസിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി:

⁴When a great multitude came together and people from every city were coming to him, he spoke by a parable:

⁵“The farmer went out to sow his seed. As he sowed, some fell along the road, and it was trampled under foot, and the birds of the sky devoured it.

⁶Some seed fell on the rock, and as soon as it grew, it withered away, because it had no moisture.

⁷Some fell amid the thorns, and the thorns grew with it and choked it.

⁸Some fell into the good ground and grew and produced one hundred times as much fruit.” As he said these things, he called out, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”

⁹Then his disciples asked him, “What does this parable mean?”

¹⁰He said, “To you it is given to know the mysteries of God’s Kingdom, but to the rest it is given in parables, that ‘seeing they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.’

¹¹“Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

¹²Those along the road are those who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their heart, that they may not believe and be saved.

¹³Those on the rock are they who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; but these have no root. They believe for a while, then fall away in time of temptation.

¹⁴What fell among the thorns, these are those who have heard, and as they go on their way they are choked with cares, riches, and pleasures of life; and they bring no fruit to maturity.

¹⁵Those in the good ground, these are those who with an honest and good heart, having heard the word, hold it tightly, and produce fruit with perseverance.

⁴പിന്നെ വലിയോരു പുരുഷാരവും ഔരോ പട്ടണത്തിൽനിന്നു അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നവരും ഒരുമിച്ചു കൂടിയപ്പോൾ അവൻ ഉപമയായി പറഞ്ഞതു: വിതെക്കുന്നവൻ വിത്തു വിതെപ്പാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

⁵വിതെക്കുമ്പോൾ ചിലതു വഴിയരികെ വീണിട്ടു ചവിട്ടിപ്പോകയും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവജാതി അതിനെ തിന്നുകളകയും ചെയ്തു.

⁶മറ്റു ചിലതു പാറമേൽ വീണു മുളെച്ചു നനവില്ലായ്കയാൽ ഉണങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

⁷മറ്റു ചിലതു മുള്ളിന്നിടയിൽ വീണു; മുള്ളുംകൂടെ മുളെച്ചു അതിനെ ഞെരുക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു.

⁸മറ്റു ചിലതു നല്ല നിലത്തു വീണു മുളെച്ചു നൂറുമേനി ഫലം കൊടുത്തു. ഇതു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു: കേൾപ്പാൻ ചെവി ഉള്ളവൻ കേൾക്കട്ടെ എന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁹അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അവനോടു ഈ ഉപമ എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതു:

¹⁰ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിന്റെ മർമ്മങ്ങളെ അറിവാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു വരം ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ശേഷമുള്ളവർക്കോ കണ്ടിട്ടും കാണാതിരിപ്പാനും, കേട്ടിട്ടും ഗ്രഹിക്കാതിരിപ്പാനും ഉപമകളിലത്രേ.

¹¹ഉപമയുടെ പൊരുളോ: വിത്തു ദൈവവചനം;

¹²വഴിയരികെയുള്ളവർ കേൾക്കുന്നവർ എങ്കിലും അവർ വിശ്വസിച്ചു രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടാതിരിപ്പാൻ പിശാചു വന്നു അവരുടെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നിന്നു വചനം എടുത്തുകളയുന്നു.

¹³പാറമേലുള്ളവരോ കേൾക്കുമ്പോൾ വചനം സന്തോഷത്തോടെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നവർ എങ്കിലും അവർക്കും വേരില്ല; അവർ തൽക്കാലം വിശ്വസിക്കയും പരീക്ഷാസമയത്തു പിൻ വാങ്ങിപ്പോകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

¹⁴മുള്ളിന്നിടയിൽ വീണതോ കേൾക്കുന്നവർ എങ്കിലും പോയി ചിന്തകളാലും ധനത്താലും സംസാരഭോഗങ്ങളാലും ഞെരുങ്ങി പൂർണ്ണമായി ഫലം കൊടുക്കാത്തവരത്രേ.

¹⁵നല്ല മണ്ണിലുള്ളതോ വചനം കേട്ടു ഗുണമുള്ള നല്ല ഹൃദയത്തിൽ സംഗ്രഹിച്ചു ക്ഷമയോടെ ഫലം കൊടുക്കുന്നവർ തന്നേ.

³⁸Pharaoh said to his servants, “Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit of God?”

³⁹Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Because God has shown you all of this, there is no one so discreet and wise as you.

⁴⁰You shall be over my house. All my people will be ruled according to your word. Only in the throne I will be greater than you.”

³⁸ഫറവോൻ തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരോടു: ദൈവാത്മാവുള്ള ഈ മനുഷ്യനെപ്പോലെ ഒരുത്തനെ കണ്ടുകിട്ടുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁹പിന്നെ ഫറവോൻ യോസേഫിനോടു: ദൈവം ഇതൊക്കെയും നിനക്കു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തി തന്നതു കൊണ്ടു നിന്നെപ്പോലെ വിവേകവും ജ്ഞാനവുമുള്ളവൻ ഒരുത്തനുമില്ല.

⁴⁰നീ എന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തിന്നു മേലധികാരിയാകും; നിന്റെ വാക്കു എന്റെ ജനമെല്ലാം അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കും; സിംഹാസനംകൊണ്ടു മാത്രം ഞാൻ നിന്നെക്കാൾ വലിയവനായിരിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³¹He called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, “Rise up, get out from among my people, both you and the children of Israel; and go, serve Yahweh, as you have said!

³²Take both your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also!”

³³The Egyptians were urgent with the people, to send them out of the land in haste, for they said, “We are all dead men.”

³⁴The people took their dough before it was leavened, their kneading troughs being bound up in their clothes on their shoulders.

³⁵The children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they asked of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and clothing.

³⁶Yahweh gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they let them have what they asked. They plundered the Egyptians.

³⁷The children of Israel traveled from Rameses to Succoth, about six hundred thousand on foot who were men, in addition to children.

³⁸A mixed multitude went up also with them, with flocks, herds, and even very much livestock.

³⁹They baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they brought out of Egypt; for it wasn’t leavened, because they were thrust out of Egypt, and couldn’t wait, and they had not prepared any food for themselves.

⁴⁰Now the time that the children of Israel lived in Egypt was four hundred thirty years.

³¹അപ്പോൾ അവൻ മോശെയെയും അഹരോനെയും രാത്രിയിൽ വിളിപ്പിച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുമായി എഴുന്നേറ്റു എന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ നടുവിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു, നിങ്ങൾ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ പോയി യഹോവയെ ആരാധിപ്പിൻ .

³³മിസ്രയീമ്യർ ജനത്തെ നിർബന്ധിച്ചു വേഗത്തിൽ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു അയച്ചു: ഞങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും മരിച്ചു പോകുന്നു എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁴അതുകൊണ്ടു ജനം കുഴെച്ച മാവു പുളിക്കുന്നതിന്നു മുമ്പെ തൊട്ടികളോടുകൂടെ ശീലകളിൽ കെട്ടി ചുമലിൽ എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

³⁵യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ മോശെയുടെ വചനം അനുസരിച്ചു മിസ്രയീമ്യരോടു വെള്ളിയാഭരണങ്ങളും പൊന്നാഭരണങ്ങളും വസ്ത്രങ്ങളും ചോദിച്ചു.

³⁶യഹോവ മിസ്രയീമ്യർക്കും ജനത്തോടു കൃപ തോന്നിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ ചോദിച്ചതൊക്കെയും അവർ അവർക്കും കൊടുത്തു; അങ്ങനെ അവർ മിസ്രയീമ്യരെ കൊള്ളയിട്ടു.

³⁷എന്നാൽ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ, കുട്ടികൾ ഒഴികെ ഏകദേശം ആറുലക്ഷം പുരുഷന്മാർ കാൽനടയായി റമസേസിൽനിന്നു സുക്കോത്തിലേക്കു യാത്ര പുറപ്പെട്ടു.

³⁸വലിയോരു സമ്മിശ്രപുരുഷാരവും ആടുകളും കന്നുകാലികളുമായി അനവധി മൃഗങ്ങളും അവരോടു കൂടെ പോന്നു.

³⁹മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു കൊണ്ടു പോന്ന കുഴെച്ച മാവുകൊണ്ടു അവർ പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത ദോശ ചുട്ടു; അവരെ മിസ്രയീമിൽ ഒട്ടും താമസിപ്പിക്കാതെ ഔടിച്ചുകളകയാൽ അതു പുളിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല; അവർ വഴിക്കു ആഹാരം ഒന്നും ഒരുക്കിയിരുന്നതുമില്ല.

⁴⁰യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ മിസ്രയീമിൽ കഴിച്ച പരദേശവാസം നാനൂറ്റി മുപ്പതു സംവത്സരമായിരുന്നു.

⁹Yahweh said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.” Therefore the name of that place was called Gilgal to this day.

¹⁰The children of Israel encamped in Gilgal. They kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the month at evening in the plains of Jericho.

¹¹They ate unleavened cakes and parched grain of the produce of the land on the next day after the Passover, in the same day.

¹²The manna ceased on the next day, after they had eaten of the produce of the land. The children of Israel didn’t have manna any more, but they ate of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.

⁹യഹോവ യോശുവയോടു: ഇന്നു ഞാൻ മിസ്രയീമിന്റെ നിന്ദ നിങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു ഉരുട്ടിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു ഇന്നുവരെ ഗില്ഗാൽ (ഉരുൾ) എന്നു പേർ.

¹⁰യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ ഗില്ഗാലിൽ പാളയമിറങ്ങി; ആ മാസം പതിന്നാലാം തിയ്യതി സന്ധ്യാസമയത്തു യെരീഹോസമഭൂമിയിൽ വെച്ചു പെസഹ കഴിച്ചു.

¹¹പെസഹയുടെ പിറ്റെ ദിവസം തന്നേ അവർ ദേശത്തെ വിളവുകൊണ്ടുള്ള പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പവും മലരും തിന്നു.

¹²അവർ ദേശത്തെ വിളവു അനുഭവിച്ചതിന്റെ പിറ്റെ ദിവസം മന്ന നിന്നുപോയി; യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾക്കു പിന്നെ മന്ന കിട്ടിയതുമില്ല; ആയാണ്ടു അവർ കനാൻ ദേശത്തെ വിളവുകൊണ്ടു ഉപജീവിച്ചു.

¹⁰For Yahweh says, “After seventy years are accomplished for Babylon, I will visit you and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.

¹¹For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future.

¹²You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

¹³You shall seek me and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.

¹⁴I will be found by you,” says Yahweh, “and I will turn again your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places where I have driven you,” says Yahweh. “I will bring you again to the place from where I caused you to be carried away captive.”

¹⁵Because you have said, “Yahweh has raised us up prophets in Babylon,”

¹⁶Yahweh says concerning the king who sits on David’s throne, and concerning all the people who dwell in this city, your brothers who haven’t gone with you into captivity,

¹⁰യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ബാബേലിലെ എഴുപതു സംവത്സരം കഴിഞ്ഞശേഷമേ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ സന്ദർശിച്ചു ഈ സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു മടക്കിവരുത്തുമെന്നു നിങ്ങളോടുള്ള എന്റെ വചനം ഞാൻ നിവർത്തിക്കയുള്ളു.

¹³നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ അന്വെഷിക്കും; പൂർണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടെ അന്വേഷിക്കുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തും.

¹⁶ദാവീദിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന രാജാവിനെക്കുറിച്ചും ഈ നഗരത്തിൽ പാർക്കുംന്ന സകലജനത്തേയുംകുറിച്ചും നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു വരാത്ത നിങ്ങളുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചും യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

¹⁰The brothers immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Beroea. When they arrived, they went into the Jewish synagogue.

¹¹Now these were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.

¹²Many of them therefore believed; also of the prominent Greek women, and not a few men.

¹³But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was proclaimed by Paul at Beroea also, they came there likewise, agitating the multitudes.

¹⁴Then the brothers immediately sent out Paul to go as far as to the sea, and Silas and Timothy still stayed there.

¹⁵But those who escorted Paul brought him as far as Athens. Receiving a commandment to Silas and Timothy that they should come to him very quickly, they departed.

¹⁰സഹോദരന്മാർ ഉടനെ, രാത്രിയിൽ തന്നേ, പൗലൊസിനെയും ശീലാസിനെയും ബെരോവേക്കു പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു. അവിടെ എത്തിയാറെ അവർ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ പള്ളിയിൽ പോയി.

¹⁴ഉടനെ സഹോദരന്മാർ പൗലൊസിനെ സമുദ്രതീരത്തേക്കു പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു; ശീലാസും തിമൊഥെയോസും അവിടെത്തന്നേ പാർത്തു.

¹⁵പൗലൊസിനോടുകൂടെ വഴിത്തുണ പോയവർ അവനെ അഥേനയോളം കൊണ്ടുപോയി; ശീലാസും തിമൊഥെയോസും കഴിയുന്ന വേഗത്തിൽ തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരേണം എന്നുള്ള കല്പന വാങ്ങി മടങ്ങിപ്പോന്നു.

¹⁴For the love of Christ compels us; because we judge thus: that one died for all, therefore all died.

¹⁵He died for all, that those who live should no longer live to themselves, but to him who for their sakes died and rose again.

¹⁶Therefore we know no one according to the flesh from now on. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know him so no more.

¹⁷Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new.

¹⁸But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation;

¹⁹namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation.

²⁰We are therefore ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were entreating by us: we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

²¹For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

¹Working together, we entreat also that you do not receive the grace of God in vain.

²For he says,

³We give no occasion of stumbling in anything, that our service may not be blamed,

⁴but in everything commending ourselves as servants of God: in great endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses,

⁵in beatings, in imprisonments, in riots, in labors, in watchings, in fastings,

⁶in pureness, in knowledge, in perseverance, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in sincere love,

⁷in the word of truth, in the power of God, by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

⁸by glory and dishonor, by evil report and good report, as deceivers and yet true,

⁹as unknown and yet well known, as dying and behold—we live, as punished and not killed,

¹⁰as sorrowful yet always rejoicing, as poor yet making many rich, as having nothing and yet possessing all things.

¹⁴ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ സ്നേഹം ഞങ്ങളെ നിർബന്ധിക്കുന്നു; എല്ലാവർക്കും വേണ്ടി ഒരുവൻ മരിച്ചിരിക്കെ എല്ലാവരും മരിച്ചു എന്നും

¹⁵ജീവിക്കുന്നവർ ഇനി തങ്ങൾക്കായിട്ടല്ല തങ്ങൾക്കു വേണ്ടി മരിച്ചു ഉയിർത്തവന്നായിട്ടു തന്നേ ജീവിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ എല്ലാവർക്കും വേണ്ടി മരിച്ചു എന്നും ഞങ്ങൾ നിർണ്ണയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁶ആകയാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ഇന്നുമുതൽ ആരെയും ജഡപ്രകാരം അറിയുന്നില്ല; ക്രിസ്തുവിനെ ജഡപ്രകാരം അറിഞ്ഞു എങ്കിലും ഇനിമേൽ അങ്ങനെ അറിയുന്നില്ല.

¹⁷ഒരുത്തൻ ക്രിസ്തുവിലായാൽ അവൻ പുതിയ സൃഷ്ടി ആകുന്നു; പഴയതു കഴിഞ്ഞുപോയി, ഇതാ, അതു പുതുതായി തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁸അതിന്നൊക്കെയും ദൈവം തന്നേ കാരണഭൂതൻ ; അവൻ നമ്മെ ക്രിസ്തുമൂലം തന്നോടു നിരപ്പിച്ചു, നിരപ്പിന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁹ദൈവം ലോകത്തിന്നു ലംഘനങ്ങളെ കണക്കിടാതെ ലോകത്തെ ക്രിസ്തുവിൽ തന്നോടു നിരപ്പിച്ചു പോന്നു. ഈ നിരപ്പിന്റെ വചനം ഞങ്ങളുടെ പക്കൽ ഭരമേല്പിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.

²⁰ആകയാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ക്രിസ്തുവിന്നു വേണ്ടി സ്ഥാനാപതികളായി ദൈവത്തോടു നിരന്നു കൊൾവിൻ എന്നു ക്രിസ്തുവിന്നു പകരം അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; അതു ദൈവം ഞങ്ങൾ മുഖാന്തരം പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ ആകുന്നു.

²¹പാപം അറിയാത്തവനെ, നാം അവനിൽ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നീതി ആകേണ്ടതിന്നു, അവൻ നമുക്കു വേണ്ടി പാപം ആക്കി.

¹നിങ്ങൾക്കു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കൃപ ലഭിച്ചതു വ്യർത്ഥമായിത്തീരരുതു എന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ സഹപ്രവൃത്തിക്കാരായി നിങ്ങളെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

²“പ്രസാദകാലത്തു ഞാൻ നിനക്കു ഉത്തരം അരുളി; രക്ഷാദിവസത്തിൽ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ സഹായിച്ചു” എന്നു അവൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുവല്ലോ. ഇപ്പോൾ ആകുന്നു സുപ്രസാദകാലം; ഇപ്പോൾ ആകുന്നു രക്ഷാദിവസം .

³ശുശ്രൂഷെക്കു ആക്ഷേപം വരാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ ഒന്നിലും ഇടർച്ചെക്കു ഹേതു കൊടുക്കാതെ സകലത്തിലും ഞങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ

⁴ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ശുശ്രൂഷകന്മാരായി കാണിക്കുന്നു; ബഹുസഹിഷ്ണുത, കഷ്ടം, ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടു, സങ്കടം , തല്ലു,

⁵തടവു, കലഹം, അദ്ധ്വാനം, ഉറക്കിളെപ്പു, പട്ടിണി, നിർമ്മലത, പരിജ്ഞാനം,

⁶ദീർഘക്ഷമ, ദയ, പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു, നിർവ്യാജസ്നേഹം, സത്യവചനം , ദൈവശക്തി

⁷എന്നിവയിലും ഇടത്തും വലത്തും നീതിയുടെ ആയുധങ്ങൾ ധരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു

⁸മാനാപമാനങ്ങളും ദുഷ്കീർത്തിസൽക്കീർത്തികളും അനുഭവിച്ചും ചതിയന്മാരെന്നിട്ടും സത്യവാന്മാർ,

⁹ആരും അറിയാത്തവരെന്നിട്ടും എല്ലാവരും നല്ലവണ്ണം അറിയുന്നവർ, മരിക്കുന്നവരെന്നിട്ടും ഇതാ, ഞങ്ങൾ ജീവിക്കുന്നു; ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവരെന്നിട്ടും കൊല്ലപ്പെടാത്തവർ;

¹⁰ദുഃഖിതരെങ്കിലും എപ്പോഴും സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നവർ; ദരിദ്രരെങ്കിലും പലരെയും സമ്പന്നർ ആക്കുന്നവർ; ഒന്നും ഇല്ലാത്തവർ എങ്കിലും എല്ലാം കൈവശമുള്ളവരായിത്തന്നേ.

²⁶Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, you seek me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.

²⁷Don’t work for the food which perishes, but for the food which remains to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has sealed him.”

²⁸They said therefore to him, “What must we do, that we may work the works of God?”

²⁹Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”

³⁰They said therefore to him, “What then do you do for a sign, that we may see and believe you? What work do you do?

³¹Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness. As it is written, ‘He gave them bread out of heaven to eat.’ ”

³²Jesus therefore said to them, “Most certainly, I tell you, it wasn’t Moses who gave you the bread out of heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread out of heaven.

³³For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven and gives life to the world.”

³⁴They said therefore to him, “Lord, always give us this bread.”

³⁵Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will not be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

²⁶ആമേൻ , ആമേൻ , ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ അടയാളം കണ്ടതുകൊണ്ടല്ല, അപ്പം തിന്നു തൃപ്തരായതുകൊണ്ടത്രേ എന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതു.

²⁷നശിച്ചുപോകുന്ന ആഹാരത്തിന്നായിട്ടല്ല, നിത്യജീവങ്കലേക്കു നിലനിലക്കുന്ന ആഹാരത്തിന്നായിട്ടു തന്നേ പ്രവർത്തിപ്പിൻ ; അതു മനുഷ്യ പുത്രൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു തരും. അവനെ പിതാവായ ദൈവം മുദ്രയിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁸അവർ അവനോടു ദൈവത്തിന്നു പ്രസാദമുള്ള പ്രവൃത്തികളെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

²⁹യേശു അവരോടു: ദൈവത്തിന്നു പ്രസാദമുള്ള പ്രവൃത്തി അവൻ അയച്ചവനിൽ നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നതത്രേ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁰അവർ അവനോടു: ഞങ്ങൾ കണ്ടു നിന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ എന്തു അടയാളം ചെയ്യുന്നു? എന്തു പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു?

³¹നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ മരുഭൂമിയിൽ മന്നാ തിന്നു; അവർക്കും തിന്നുവാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ നിന്നു അപ്പം കൊടുത്തു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³²യേശു അവരോടു: ആമേൻ , ആമേൻ , ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ള അപ്പം മോശെയല്ല നിങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നതു, എന്റെ പിതാവത്രേ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ള സാക്ഷാൽ അപ്പം നിങ്ങൾക്കു തരുന്നതു.

³³ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അപ്പമോ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു ലോകത്തിന്നു ജീവനെ കൊടുക്കുന്നതു ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁴അവർ അവനോടു: കർത്താവേ, ഈ അപ്പം എപ്പോഴും ഞങ്ങൾക്കു തരേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁵യേശു അവരോടുപറഞ്ഞതു: ഞാൻ ജീവന്റെ അപ്പം ആകുന്നു; എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നവന്നു വിശക്കയില്ല; എന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു ഒരു നാളും ദാഹിക്കയുമില്ല.
