Daily Bible Readings

⁷Jesus withdrew to the sea with his disciples; and a great multitude followed him from Galilee, from Judea,

⁸from Jerusalem, from Idumaea, beyond the Jordan, and those from around Tyre and Sidon. A great multitude, hearing what great things he did, came to him.

⁹He spoke to his disciples that a little boat should stay near him because of the crowd, so that they wouldn’t press on him.

¹⁰For he had healed many, so that as many as had diseases pressed on him that they might touch him.

¹¹The unclean spirits, whenever they saw him, fell down before him and cried, “You are the Son of God!”

¹²He sternly warned them that they should not make him known.

¹³He went up into the mountain and called to himself those whom he wanted, and they went to him.

¹⁴He appointed twelve, that they might be with him, and that he might send them out to preach

¹⁵and to have authority to heal sicknesses and to cast out demons:

¹⁶Simon (to whom he gave the name Peter);

¹⁷James the son of Zebedee; and John, the brother of James, (whom he called Boanerges, which means, Sons of Thunder);

¹⁸Andrew; Philip; Bartholomew; Matthew; Thomas; James, the son of Alphaeus; Thaddaeus; Simon the Zealot;

¹⁹and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.

⁷യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരുമായി കടൽക്കരകൂ വാങ്ങിപ്പോയി; ഗലീലയിൽനിന്നു വലിയോരു പുരുഷാരം അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു;

⁸യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ നിന്നും യെരൂശലേമിൽനിന്നും എദോമിൽ നിന്നും യോർദാന്നക്കരെ നിന്നും സോരിന്റെയും സിദോന്റെയും ചുറ്റുപാട്ടിൽനിന്നും വലിയോരു കൂട്ടം അവൻ ചെയ്തതു ഒക്കെയും കേട്ടിട്ടു അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു.

⁹പുരുഷാരം തന്നെ ഞെരുക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവരുടെ നിമിത്തം ഒരു ചെറു പടകു തനിക്കു ഒരുക്കി നിറുത്തുവാൻ അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁰അവൻ അനേകരെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കുകയാൽ ബാധകൾ ഉള്ളവർ ഒക്കെയും അവനെ തൊടേണ്ടതിന്നു തിക്കിത്തിരക്കി വന്നു.

¹¹അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കളും അവനെ കാണുമ്പോൾ ഒക്കെയും അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വീണു: നീ ദൈവ പുത്രൻ എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറയും.

¹²തന്നെ പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ അവരെ വളരെ ശാസിച്ചുപോന്നു.

¹³പിന്നെ അവൻ മലയിൽ കയറി തനിക്കു ബോധിച്ചവരെ അടുക്കൽ വിളിച്ചു; അവർ അവന്റെ അരികെ വന്നു.

¹⁴അവൻ തന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിപ്പാനും പ്രസംഗിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അയപ്പാനും

¹⁵ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അധികാരം ഉണ്ടാകുവാനും പന്തിരുവരെ നിയമിച്ചു;

¹⁶ശിമോന്നു പത്രൊസ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു;

¹⁷സെബെദിയുടെ മകനായ യാക്കോബു, യക്കോബിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യോഹന്നാൻ : ഇവർക്കും ഇടിമക്കൾ എന്നർത്ഥമുള്ള ബൊവനേർഗ്ഗെസ് എന്നു പേരിട്ടു —

¹⁸അന്ത്രെയാസ്, ഫിലിപ്പൊസ്, ബർത്തൊലോമായി, മത്തായി, തോമാസ്, അല്ഫായിയുടെ മകനായ യാക്കോബ്, തദ്ദായി, കനാന്യനായ ശിമോൻ ,

¹⁹തന്നെ കാണിച്ചുകൊടുത്ത ഈസ്കായ്യോർത്ത് യൂദാ എന്നിവരെ തന്നേ.

¹²In these days, he went out to the mountain to pray, and he continued all night in prayer to God.

¹³When it was day, he called his disciples, and from them he chose twelve, whom he also named apostles:

¹⁴Simon, whom he also named Peter; Andrew, his brother; James; John; Philip; Bartholomew;

¹⁵Matthew; Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus; Simon who was called the Zealot;

¹⁶Judas the son of James; and Judas Iscariot, who also became a traitor.

¹⁷He came down with them and stood on a level place, with a crowd of his disciples and a great number of the people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases,

¹⁸as well as those who were troubled by unclean spirits; and they were being healed.

¹⁹All the multitude sought to touch him, for power came out of him and healed them all.

²⁰He lifted up his eyes to his disciples, and said:

²¹Blessed are you who hunger now,

²²Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude and mock you, and throw out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake.

²³Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven, for their fathers did the same thing to the prophets.

¹²ആ കാലത്തു അവൻ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒരു മലയിൽ ചെന്നു ദൈവത്തോടുള്ള പ്രാർത്ഥനയിൽ രാത്രി കഴിച്ചു.

¹⁷അവൻ അവരോടു കൂടെ ഇറങ്ങി സമഭൂമിയിൽ നിന്നു; അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടവും യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ എല്ലാടത്തുനിന്നും യെരൂശലേമിൽ നിന്നും സോർ സീദോൻ എന്ന സമുദ്രതീരങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും അവന്റെ വചനം കേൾപ്പാനും രോഗശാന്തി കിട്ടുവാനും വന്ന ബഹു പുരുഷാരവും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

¹⁸അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കൾ ബാധിച്ചവരും സൌഖ്യം പ്രാപിച്ചു.

¹⁹ശക്തി അവനിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടു എല്ലാവരെയും സൌഖ്യമാക്കുകകൊണ്ടു പുരുഷാരം ഒക്കെയും അവനെ തൊടുവാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു.

²⁰അനന്തരം അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ നോക്കി പറഞ്ഞതു: ദരിദ്രന്മാരായ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ, ദൈവരാജ്യം നിങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളതു.

²¹ഇപ്പോൾ വിശക്കുന്നവരായ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു തൃപ്തിവരും; ഇപ്പോൾകരയുന്നവരായ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; നിങ്ങൾ ചിരിക്കും.

²²മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ നിമിത്തം മനുഷ്യർ നിങ്ങളെ ദ്വേഷിച്ചു ഭ്രഷ്ടരാക്കി നിന്ദിച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ പേർ വിടകൂ എന്നു തള്ളുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ.

²³ആ നാളിൽ സന്തോഷിച്ചു തുള്ളുവിൻ ; നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രതിഫലം സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ വലിയതു; അവരുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ പ്രവാചകന്മാരോടു അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.

¹Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

²“Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and tell them, ‘You shall be holy; for I, Yahweh your God, am holy.

³“ ‘Each one of you shall respect his mother and his father. You shall keep my Sabbaths. I am Yahweh your God.

⁴“ ‘Don’t turn to idols, nor make molten gods for yourselves. I am Yahweh your God.

⁵“ ‘When you offer a sacrifice of peace offerings to Yahweh, you shall offer it so that you may be accepted.

⁶It shall be eaten the same day you offer it, and on the next day. If anything remains until the third day, it shall be burned with fire.

⁷If it is eaten at all on the third day, it is an abomination. It will not be accepted;

⁸but everyone who eats it shall bear his iniquity, because he has profaned the holy thing of Yahweh, and that soul shall be cut off from his people.

¹യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു:

²നീ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളുടെ സർവ്വസഭയോടും പറയേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എന്ന ഞാൻ വിശുദ്ധനാകയാൽ നിങ്ങളും വിശുദ്ധരായിരിപ്പിൻ .

³നിങ്ങൾ ഔരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ അമ്മയെയും അപ്പനെയും ഭയപ്പെടേണം; എന്റെ ശബ്ബത്തുകൾ പ്രമാണിക്കേണം: ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.

⁴വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു തിരിയരുതു; ദേവന്മാരെ നിങ്ങൾക്കു വാർത്തുണ്ടാക്കരുതു; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.

⁵യഹോവേക്കു സമാധാനയാഗം അർപ്പിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു പ്രസാദം ലഭിപ്പാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം അർപ്പിക്കേണം.

⁶അർപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദിവസവും പിറ്റെന്നാളും അതു തിന്നാം; മൂന്നാം ദിവസംവരെ ശേഷിക്കുന്നതു തീയിൽ ഇട്ടു ചുട്ടുകളയേണം.

⁷മൂന്നാം ദിവസം തിന്നു എന്നു വരികിൽ അതു അറെപ്പാകുന്നു; പ്രസാദമാകയില്ല.

⁸അതു തിന്നുന്നവൻ കുറ്റം വഹിക്കും; യഹോവേക്കു വിശുദ്ധമായതു അവൻ അശുദ്ധമാക്കിയല്ലോ; അവനെ അവന്റെ ജനത്തിൽനിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയേണം.

¹Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and spoke, saying, “Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.

²In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led Israel out and in. Yahweh said to you, ‘You will be shepherd of my people Israel, and you will be prince over Israel.’ ”

³So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron, and King David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Yahweh; and they anointed David king over Israel.

⁴David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.

⁵In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months, and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years over all Israel and Judah.

⁶The king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spoke to David, saying, “The blind and the lame will keep you out of here,” thinking, “David can’t come in here.”

⁷Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion. This is David’s city.

⁸David said on that day, “Whoever strikes the Jebusites, let him go up to the watercourse and strike those lame and blind, who are hated by David’s soul.” Therefore they say, “The blind and the lame can’t come into the house.”

⁹David lived in the stronghold, and called it David’s city. David built around from Millo and inward.

¹⁰David grew greater and greater, for Yahweh, the God of Armies, was with him.

¹അനന്തരം യിസ്രായേൽഗോത്രങ്ങളൊക്കെയും ഹെബ്രോനിൽ ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു: ഞങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ അസ്ഥിയും മാംസവും ആകുന്നുവല്ലോ.

²മുമ്പു ശൗൽ ഞങ്ങളുടെ രാജാവായിരുന്നപ്പോഴും നായകനായി യിസ്രായേലിനെ നടത്തിയതു നീ ആയിരുന്നു. നീ എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിനെ മേയ്ക്കയും യിസ്രായേലിന്നു പ്രഭുവായിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുമെന്നു യഹോവ നിന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിട്ടുമുണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³ഇങ്ങനെ യിസ്രായേൽമൂപ്പന്മാരൊക്കെയും ഹെബ്രോനിൽ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു; ദാവീദ് രാജാവു ഹെബ്രോനിൽവെച്ചു യഹോവയുടെ സന്നിധിയിൽ അവരോടു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്തു; അവർ ദാവീദിനെ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു രാജാവായിട്ടു അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തു.

⁴ദാവീദ് വാഴ്ച തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ അവന്നു മുപ്പതു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു; അവൻ നാല്പതു സംവത്സരം വാണു.

⁵അവൻ ഹെബ്രോനിൽ യെഹൂദെക്കു ഏഴു സംവത്സരവും ആറു മാസവും യെരൂശലേമിൽ എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിന്നും യെഹൂദെക്കും മുപ്പത്തിമൂന്നു സംവത്സരവും രാജാവായി വാണു.

⁶രാജാവും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു ആ ദേശത്തെ നിവാസികളായ യെബൂസ്യരുടെ നേരെ പുറപ്പെട്ടു. ദാവീദിന്നു അവിടെ കടപ്പാൻ കഴികയില്ലെന്നുവെച്ചു അവർ ദാവീദിനോടു: നീ ഇവിടെ കടക്കയില്ല; നിന്നെ തടുപ്പാൻ കുരുടരും മുടന്തരും മതി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁷എന്നിട്ടും ദാവീദ് സീയോൻ കോട്ട പിടിച്ചു; അതു തന്നെ ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരം.

⁸അന്നു ദാവീദ്: ആരെങ്കിലും യെബൂസ്യരെ തോല്പിച്ചാൽ അവൻ നീർപ്പാത്തിയിൽകൂടി കയറി ദാവീദിന്നു വെറുപ്പായുള്ള മുടന്തരെയും കുരുടരെയും പിടിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അതു കൊണ്ടു കുരുടരും മുടന്തരും വീട്ടിൽ വരരുതു എന്നൊരു ചൊല്ലു നടപ്പായി.

⁹ദാവീദ് കോട്ടയിൽ വസിച്ചു, അതിന്നു ദാവീദിന്റെ നഗരമെന്നു പേരിട്ടു. ദാവീദ് അതിനെ മില്ലോ തുടങ്ങി ചുറ്റിലും ഉള്ളിലോട്ടും പണിതുറപ്പിച്ചു.

¹⁰സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ തന്നോടുകൂടെയുണ്ടായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ദാവീദ് മേല്ക്കുമേൽ പ്രബലനായിത്തീർന്നു.

²⁵Then King Darius wrote to all the peoples, nations, and languages who dwell in all the earth:

²⁶“I make a decree that in all the dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel.

²⁷He delivers and rescues.

²⁸So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

²⁵അന്നു ദാർയ്യാവേശ്രാജാവു സർവ്വഭൂമിയിലും വസിക്കുന്ന സകലവംശങ്ങൾക്കും ഭാഷക്കാർക്കും എഴുതിയതെന്തെന്നാൽ: നിങ്ങൾക്കു ശുഭം വർദ്ധിച്ചുവരട്ടെ.

²⁶എന്റെ രാജാധിപത്യത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെട്ട ഏവരും ദാനീയേലിന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ ഭയഭക്തിയോടിരിക്കേണമെന്നു ഞാൻ ഒരു തീർപ്പു കല്പിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവവും എന്നേക്കും നിലനിലക്കുന്നവനും അവന്റെ രാജത്വം നശിച്ചു പോകാത്തതും അവന്റെ ആധിപത്യം അവസാനംവരാത്തതും ആകുന്നു.

²⁷അവൻ രക്ഷിക്കയും വിടുവിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവൻ ആകാശത്തിലും ഭൂമിയിലും അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ ദാനീയേലിനെ സിംഹവായിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

²⁸എന്നാൽ ദാനീയേൽ ദാർയ്യാവേശിന്റെ വാഴ്ചയിലും പാർസിരാജാവായ കോരെശിന്റെ വാഴ്ചയിലും ശുഭപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.

²³Being let go, they came to their own company and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.

²⁴When they heard it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord and said, “O Lord, you are God, who made the sky, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them;

²⁵who by the mouth of your servant David, said,

²⁶The kings of the earth take a stand,

²⁷“For truly, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed,

²⁸to do whatever your hand and your counsel foreordained to happen.

²⁹Now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness,

³⁰while you stretch out your hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of your holy Servant Jesus.”

³¹When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

²³വിട്ടയച്ചശേഷം അവർ കൂട്ടാളികളുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും തങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞതു എല്ലാം അറിയിച്ചു.

²⁴അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവർ ഒരുമനപ്പെട്ടു ദൈവത്തോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു: ആകശവും ഭൂമിയും സമുദ്രവും അവയിലുള്ള സകലവും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ നാഥനേ,

²⁵“ജാതികൾ കലഹിക്കുന്നതും വംശങ്ങൾ വ്യർത്ഥമായതു നിരൂപിക്കുന്നതും എന്തു?

²⁶ഭൂമിയിലെ രാജാക്കന്മാർഅണിനിരക്കുകയും അധിപതികൾ കർത്താവിന്നു വിരോധമായും അവന്റെ അഭിഷിക്തന്നു വിരോധമായും ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു നിന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദ് മുഖാന്തരം പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാൽ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തവനേ,

²⁷നീ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്ത യേശു എന്ന നിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധദാസനു വിരോധമായി ഹെരോദാവും പൊന്തിയൊസ് പീലാത്തൊസും ജാതികളും യിസ്രായേൽ ജനവുമായി ഈ നഗരത്തിൽ ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി,

²⁸സംഭവിക്കേണം എന്നു നിന്റെ കയ്യും നിന്റെ ആലോചനയും മുന്നിയമിച്ചതു ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു സത്യം.

²⁹ഇപ്പോഴോ കർത്താവേ, അവരുടെ ഭീഷണികളെ നോക്കേണമേ.

³⁰സൗഖ്യമാക്കുവാൻ നിന്റെ കൈ നീട്ടുന്നതിനാലും നിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധദാസനായ യേശുവിന്റെ നാമത്താൽ അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടാകുന്നതിനാലും നിന്റെ വചനം പൂർണ്ണധൈര്യത്തോടും കൂടെ പ്രസ്താവിപ്പാൻ നിന്റെ ദാസന്മാർക്കും കൃപ നല്കേണമേ.

³¹ഇങ്ങനെ പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവർ കൂടിയിരുന്ന സ്ഥലം കുലുങ്ങി; എല്ലാവരും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവരായി ദൈവവചനം ധൈര്യത്തോടെ പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു.

¹¹Therefore remember that once you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “uncircumcision” by that which is called “circumcision” (in the flesh, made by hands),

¹²that you were at that time separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.

¹³But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off are made near in the blood of Christ.

¹⁴For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of separation,

¹⁵having abolished in his flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace,

¹⁶and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, having killed the hostility through it.

¹⁷He came and preached peace to you who were far off and to those who were near.

¹⁸For through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.

¹⁹So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and of the household of God,

²⁰being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone;

²¹in whom the whole building, fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord;

²²in whom you also are built together for a habitation of God in the Spirit.

⁹Don’t take any gold, silver, or brass in your money belts.

¹⁰Take no bag for your journey, neither two coats, nor sandals, nor staff: for the laborer is worthy of his food.

¹¹Into whatever city or village you enter, find out who in it is worthy, and stay there until you go on.

¹²As you enter into the household, greet it.

¹³If the household is worthy, let your peace come on it, but if it isn’t worthy, let your peace return to you.

¹⁴Whoever doesn’t receive you or hear your words, as you go out of that house or that city, shake the dust off your feet.

¹⁵Most certainly I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.

¹⁶“Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.
