¹Seeing the multitudes, he went up onto the mountain. When he had sat down, his disciples came to him.

²He opened his mouth and taught them, saying,

³“Blessed are the poor in spirit,

⁴Blessed are those who mourn,

⁵Blessed are the gentle,

⁶Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

⁷Blessed are the merciful,

⁸Blessed are the pure in heart,

⁹Blessed are the peacemakers,

¹⁰Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness’ sake,

¹¹“Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

¹²Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. For that is how they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

¹³“You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men.

¹⁴“You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill can’t be hidden.

¹⁵Neither do you light a lamp and put it under a measuring basket, but on a stand; and it shines to all who are in the house.

¹⁶Even so, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

¹⁷“Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill.

¹⁸For most certainly, I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not even one smallest letter or one tiny pen stroke shall in any way pass away from the law, until all things are accomplished.

¹⁹Therefore, whoever shall break one of these least commandments and teach others to do so, shall be called least in the Kingdom of Heaven; but whoever shall do and teach them shall be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.

²⁰For I tell you that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, there is no way you will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

¹അവൻ പുരുഷാരത്തെ കണ്ടാറെ മലമേൽ കയറി. അവൻ ഇരുന്നശേഷം ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു.

²അവൻ തിരുവായ്മൊഴിഞ്ഞു അവരോടു ഉപദേശിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

⁵സൌമ്യതയുള്ളവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർ ഭൂമിയെ അവകാശമാക്കും.

⁶നീതിക്കു വിശന്നു ദാഹിക്കുന്നവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർക്കു തൃപ്തിവരും.

⁷കരുണയുള്ളവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർക്കു കരുണ ലഭിക്കും.

⁸ഹൃദയ ശുദ്ധിയുള്ളവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർ ദൈവത്തെ കാണും.

⁹സമാധാനം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; അവർ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും.

¹⁰നീതിനിമിത്തം ഉപദ്രവിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവർ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ; സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യം അവർക്കുള്ളതു.

¹¹എന്റെ നിമിത്തം നിങ്ങളെ പഴിക്കയും ഉപദ്രവിക്കയും നിങ്ങളെക്കൊണ്ടു എല്ലാ തിന്മയും കളവായി പറകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ.

²²He went on his way through cities and villages, teaching, and traveling on to Jerusalem.

²³One said to him, “Lord, are they few who are saved?”

²⁴“Strive to enter in by the narrow door, for many, I tell you, will seek to enter in and will not be able.

²⁵When once the master of the house has risen up and has shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ then he will answer and tell you, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’

²⁶Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’

²⁷He will say, ‘I tell you, I don’t know where you come from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity.’

²⁸There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in God’s Kingdom, and yourselves being thrown outside.

²⁹They will come from the east, west, north, and south, and will sit down in God’s Kingdom.

³⁰Behold, there are some who are last who will be first, and there are some who are first who will be last.”

²²അവൻ പട്ടണംതോറും ഗ്രാമംതോറും സഞ്ചരിച്ചു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു യാത്ര ചെയ്തു.

¹¹About this time, he went into the house to do his work, and there were none of the men of the house inside.

¹²She caught him by his garment, saying, “Lie with me!”

¹³When she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and had run outside,

¹⁴she called to the men of her house, and spoke to them, saying, “Behold, he has brought a Hebrew in to us to mock us. He came in to me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice.

¹⁵When he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, he left his garment by me, and ran outside.”

¹⁶She laid up his garment by her, until his master came home.

¹⁷She spoke to him according to these words, saying, “The Hebrew servant, whom you have brought to us, came in to me to mock me,

¹⁸and as I lifted up my voice and cried, he left his garment by me, and ran outside.”

¹⁹When his master heard the words of his wife, which she spoke to him, saying, “This is what your servant did to me,” his wrath was kindled.

²⁰Joseph’s master took him, and put him into the prison, the place where the king’s prisoners were bound, and he was there in custody.

²¹But Yahweh was with Joseph, and showed kindness to him, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

²²The keeper of the prison committed to Joseph’s hand all the prisoners who were in the prison. Whatever they did there, he was responsible for it.

²³The keeper of the prison didn’t look after anything that was under his hand, because Yahweh was with him; and that which he did, Yahweh made it prosper.

¹¹ഒരു ദിവസം അവൻ തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി ചെയ്‍വാൻ വീട്ടിന്നകത്തു ചെന്നു; വീട്ടിലുള്ളവർ ആരും അവിടെ ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു.

¹I am the man who has seen affliction

²He has led me and caused me to walk in darkness,

³Surely he turns his hand against me

⁴He has made my flesh and my skin old.

⁵He has built against me,

⁶He has made me dwell in dark places,

⁷He has walled me about, so that I can’t go out.

⁸Yes, when I cry, and call for help,

⁹He has walled up my ways with cut stone.

¹⁰He is to me as a bear lying in wait,

¹¹He has turned away my path,

¹²He has bent his bow,

¹³He has caused the shafts of his quiver to enter into my kidneys.

¹⁴I have become a derision to all my people,

¹⁵He has filled me with bitterness.

¹⁶He has also broken my teeth with gravel.

¹⁷You have removed my soul far away from peace.

¹⁸I said, “My strength has perished,

¹⁹Remember my affliction and my misery,

²⁰My soul still remembers them,

²¹This I recall to my mind;

²²It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed,

²³They are new every morning.

²⁴“Yahweh is my portion,” says my soul.

²⁵Yahweh is good to those who wait for him,

²⁶It is good that a man should hope

²⁷It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.

²⁸Let him sit alone and keep silence,

²⁹Let him put his mouth in the dust,

³⁰Let him give his cheek to him who strikes him.

³¹For the Lord will not cast off forever.

³²For though he causes grief,

³³For he does not afflict willingly,

¹ഞാൻ അവന്റെ കോപത്തിന്റെ വടികൊണ്ടു കഷ്ടം കണ്ട പുരുഷനാകുന്നു.

¹⁰അവൻ എനിക്കു പതിയിരിക്കുന്ന കരടിയെപ്പോലെയും മറഞ്ഞുനിലക്കുന്ന സിംഹത്തെപ്പോലെയും ആകുന്നു.

¹¹അവൻ എന്റെ വഴികളെ തെറ്റിച്ചു എന്നെ കടിച്ചുകീറി ശൂന്യമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹²അവൻ വില്ലു കുലെച്ചു എന്നെ അമ്പിന്നു ലാക്കാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹³അവൻ തന്റെ പൂണിയിലെ അമ്പുകളെ എന്റെ അന്തരംഗങ്ങളിൽ തറെപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁴ഞാൻ എന്റെ സർവ്വജനത്തിന്നും പരിഹാസവും ഇടവിടാതെ അവരുടെ പാട്ടും ആയിത്തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁵അവൻ എന്നെ കൈപ്പുകൊണ്ടു നിറെച്ചു, കാഞ്ഞിരംകൊണ്ടു മത്തുപിടിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു;

¹⁶അവൻ കല്ലുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ പല്ലു തകർത്തു, എന്നെ വെണ്ണീരിൽ ഇട്ടുരുട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁷നീ എന്റെ പ്രാണനെ സമാധാനത്തിൽനിന്നു നീക്കി; ഞാൻ സുഖം മറന്നിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹⁸എന്റെ മഹത്വവും യഹോവയിങ്കലുള്ള എന്റെ പ്രത്യാശയും പൊയ്പോയല്ലോ എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁹നീ എന്റെ കഷ്ടതയും അരിഷ്ടതയും കാഞ്ഞിരവും കൈപ്പും ഔർക്കേണമേ.

²⁰എന്റെ പ്രാണൻ എന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ എപ്പോഴും അവയെ ഔർത്തു ഉരുകിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

²¹ഇതു ഞാൻ ഔർക്കും; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ പ്രത്യാശിക്കും.

²²നാം മുടിഞ്ഞുപോകാതിരിക്കുന്നതു യഹോവയുടെ ദയ ആകുന്നു; അവന്റെ കരുണ തീർന്നു പോയിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ;

²³അതു രാവിലെതോറും പുതിയതും നിന്റെ വിശ്വസ്ഥത വലിയതും ആകുന്നു.

²⁴യഹോവ എന്റെ ഔഹരി എന്നു എന്റെ ഉള്ളം പറയുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ അവനിൽ പ്രത്യാശവെക്കുന്നു.

²⁵തന്നെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നവർക്കും തന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവന്നും യഹോവ നല്ലവൻ .

²⁶യഹോവയുടെ രക്ഷെക്കായി മിണ്ടാതെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നതു നല്ലതു.

²⁷ബാല്യത്തിൽ നുകം ചുമക്കുന്നതു ഒരു പുരുഷന്നു നല്ലതു.

²⁸അവൻ അതു അവന്റെ മേൽ വെച്ചിരിക്ക കൊണ്ടു അവൻ തനിച്ചു മൌനം ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ.

²⁹അവൻ തന്റെ മുഖത്തെ പൊടിയോളം താഴ്ത്തട്ടെ; പക്ഷെ പ്രത്യാശ ശേഷിക്കും.

³⁰തന്നെ അടിക്കുന്നവന്നു അവൻ കവിൾ കാണിക്കട്ടെ; അവൻ വേണ്ടുവോളം നിന്ദ അനുഭവിക്കട്ടെ.

³¹കർത്താവു എന്നേക്കും തള്ളിക്കളകയില്ലല്ലോ.

³²അവൻ ദുഃഖിപ്പിച്ചാലും തന്റെ മഹാദയെക്കു ഒത്തവണ്ണം അവന്നു കരുണതോന്നും.

³³മനസ്സോടെയല്ലല്ലോ അവൻ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്മാരെ ദുഃഖിപ്പിച്ചു വ്യസനിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു.

¹²Blessed is a person who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord promised to those who love him.

¹³Let no man say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God,” for God can’t be tempted by evil, and he himself tempts no one.

¹⁴But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own lust and enticed.

¹⁵Then the lust, when it has conceived, bears sin. The sin, when it is full grown, produces death.

¹⁶Don’t be deceived, my beloved brothers.

¹⁷Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation nor turning shadow.

¹⁸Of his own will he gave birth to us by the word of truth, that we should be a kind of first fruits of his creatures.

¹⁹So, then, my beloved brothers, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;

²⁰for the anger of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God.

²¹Therefore, putting away all filthiness and overflowing of wickedness, receive with humility the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.

¹²പരീക്ഷ സഹിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ ; അവൻ കൊള്ളാകുന്നവനായി തെളിഞ്ഞ ശേഷം കർത്താവു തന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവർക്കും വാഗ്ദത്തം ചെയ്ത ജീവകിരീടം പ്രാപിക്കും.

¹³പരീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ദൈവത്താൽ പരീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നു ആരും പറയരുതു. ദൈവം ദോഷങ്ങളാൽ പരീക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടാത്തവൻ ആകുന്നു; താൻ ആരെയും പരീക്ഷിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല.

¹⁵മോഹം ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചു പാപത്തെ പ്രസവിക്കുന്നു; പാപം മുഴുത്തിട്ടു മരണത്തെ പെറുന്നു.

¹⁶എന്റെ പ്രിയസഹോദരന്മാരേ, വഞ്ചിക്കപ്പെടരുതു.

¹⁷എല്ലാ നല്ല ദാനവും തികഞ്ഞ വരം ഒക്കെയും ഉയരത്തിൽനിന്നു വെളിച്ചങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവിങ്കൽ നിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവരുന്നു. അവന്നു വികാരമോ ഗതിഭേദത്താലുള്ള ആഛാദനമോ ഇല്ല.

²¹ആകയാൽ എല്ലാ അഴുക്കും ദുഷ്ടതയുടെ ആധിക്യവും വിട്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ ആത്മാക്കളെ രക്ഷിപ്പാൻ ശക്തിയുള്ളതും ഉൾനട്ടതുമായ വചനം സൌമ്യതയോടെ കൈക്കൊൾവിൻ .

¹⁰But you followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, steadfastness,

¹¹persecutions, and sufferings—those things that happened to me at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. I endured those persecutions. The Lord delivered me out of them all.

¹²Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

¹³But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.

¹⁴But you remain in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them.

¹⁵From infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

¹⁰നീയോ എന്റെ ഉപദേശം, നടപ്പു, ഉദ്ദേശം, വിശ്വാസം, ദീർഘക്ഷമ, സ്നേഹം, സഹിഷ്ണുത എന്നിവയും

²⁰He lifted up his eyes to his disciples, and said:

²¹Blessed are you who hunger now,

²²Blessed are you when men hate you, and when they exclude and mock you, and throw out your name as evil, for the Son of Man’s sake.

²³Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven, for their fathers did the same thing to the prophets.

²⁴“But woe to you who are rich!

²⁵Woe to you, you who are full now,

²⁶Woe, when men speak well of you,

²⁷“But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

²⁸bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.

²⁹To him who strikes you on the cheek, offer also the other; and from him who takes away your cloak, don’t withhold your coat also.

³⁰Give to everyone who asks you, and don’t ask him who takes away your goods to give them back again.

³¹“As you would like people to do to you, do exactly so to them.

²⁰അനന്തരം അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ നോക്കി പറഞ്ഞതു: ദരിദ്രന്മാരായ നിങ്ങൾ ഭാഗ്യവാന്മാർ, ദൈവരാജ്യം നിങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളതു.

²⁹നിന്നെ ഒരു ചെകിട്ടത്തു അടിക്കുന്നവന്നു മറ്റേതും കാണിച്ചുകൊടുക്ക; നിന്റെ പുതപ്പു എടുത്തുകളയുന്നവന്നു വസ്ത്രവും തടുക്കരുതു.

³⁰നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കുന്ന ഏവന്നും കൊടുക്ക; നിനക്കുള്ളതു എടുത്തുകളയുന്നവനോടു മടക്കി ചോദിക്കരുതു.

³¹മനുഷ്യർ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ചെയ്യേണം എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ തന്നേ അവർക്കും ചെയ്‍വിൻ .
