⁴⁸but he who didn’t know, and did things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few stripes. To whomever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom much was entrusted, of him more will be asked.

⁴⁹“I came to throw fire on the earth. I wish it were already kindled.

⁵⁰But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how distressed I am until it is accomplished!

⁵¹Do you think that I have come to give peace in the earth? I tell you, no, but rather division.

⁵²For from now on, there will be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three.

⁵³They will be divided, father against son, and son against father; mother against daughter, and daughter against her mother; mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.”

⁵⁴He said to the multitudes also, “When you see a cloud rising from the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming,’ and so it happens.

⁵⁵When a south wind blows, you say, ‘There will be a scorching heat,’ and it happens.

⁵⁶You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky, but how is it that you don’t interpret this time?

⁵⁷“Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?

⁵⁸For when you are going with your adversary before the magistrate, try diligently on the way to be released from him, lest perhaps he drag you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison.

⁵⁹I tell you, you will by no means get out of there until you have paid the very last penny. ”

⁴⁸അറിയാതെകണ്ടു അടിക്കു യോഗ്യമായതു ചെയ്തവന്നോ കുറയ അടി കൊള്ളും; വളരെ ലഭിച്ചവനോടു വളരെ ആവശ്യപ്പെടും; അധികം ഏറ്റുവാങ്ങിയവനോടു അധികം ചോദിക്കും.

⁴⁹ഭൂമിയിൽ തീ ഇടുവാൻ ഞാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; അതു ഇപ്പോഴേ കത്തിയെങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു എന്നല്ലാതെ ഞാൻ മറ്റെന്തു ഇച്ഛിക്കേണ്ടു?

⁵⁰എങ്കിലും എനിക്കു ഒരു സ്നാനം ഏല്പാൻ ഉണ്ടു; അതു കഴിയുവോളം ഞാൻ എത്ര ഞെരുങ്ങുന്നു.

⁵¹ഭൂമിയിൽ സമാധാനം നലകുവാൻ ഞാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു തോന്നുന്നുവോ? അല്ലല്ല, ഛിദ്രം വരുത്തുവാൻ അത്രേ എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

⁵²ഇനിമേൽ ഒരു വീട്ടിൽ ഇരുവരോടു മൂവരും മൂവരോടു ഇരുവരും ഇങ്ങനെ അഞ്ചുപേർ തമ്മിൽ ഛിദ്രിച്ചിരിക്കും.

⁵³അപ്പൻ മകനോടും മകൻ അപ്പനോടും അമ്മ മകളോടും മകൾ അമ്മയോടും അമ്മാവിയമ്മ മരുമകളോടും മരുമകൾ അമ്മാവിയമ്മയോടും ഛിദ്രിച്ചിരിക്കും.

⁵⁴പിന്നെ അവൻ പുരുഷാരത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: പടിഞ്ഞാറുനിന്നു മേഘം പൊങ്ങുന്നതു കാണുമ്പോൾ പെരുമഴ വരുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ ഉടനെ പറയുന്നു; അങ്ങനെ സംഭവിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

⁵⁵തെക്കൻ കാറ്റു ഊതുന്നതു കണ്ടാലോ അത്യുഷ്ണം ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു പറയുന്നു; അതു സംഭവിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

⁵⁶കപടഭകതിക്കാരേ, ഭൂമിയുടെയും ആകാശത്തിന്റെയും ഭാവത്തെ വിവേചിപ്പാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു അറിയാം;

⁵⁷എന്നാൽ ഈ കാലത്തെ വിവേചിപ്പാൻ അറിയാത്തതു എങ്ങനെ? ന്യായമായതു എന്തെന്നു നിങ്ങൾ സ്വയമായി വിധിക്കാത്തതും എന്തു?

⁵⁸പ്രതിയോഗിയോടുകൂടെ അധികാരിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ പോകുമ്പോൾ വഴിയിൽവെച്ചു അവനോടു നിരന്നുകൊൾവാൻ ശ്രമിക്ക; അല്ലാഞ്ഞാൽ അവൻ നിന്നെ ന്യായാധിപന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ ഇഴെച്ചുകൊണ്ടു പോകയും ന്യായാധിപൻ നിന്നെ കോൽക്കാരന്റെ പക്കൽ ഏല്പിക്കയും കോൽക്കാരൻ തടവിൽ ആക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

⁵⁹ഒടുക്കത്തെ കാശുപോലും കൊടുത്തുതീരുവോളം നീ അവിടെ നിന്നു പുറത്തു വരികയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു.

¹³One of the multitude said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

¹⁴But he said to him, “Man, who made me a judge or an arbitrator over you?”

¹⁵He said to them, “Beware! Keep yourselves from covetousness, for a man’s life doesn’t consist of the abundance of the things which he possesses.”

¹⁶He spoke a parable to them, saying, “The ground of a certain rich man produced abundantly.

¹⁷He reasoned within himself, saying, ‘What will I do, because I don’t have room to store my crops?’

¹⁸He said, ‘This is what I will do. I will pull down my barns, build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods.

¹⁹I will tell my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years. Take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry.” ’

²⁰“But God said to him, ‘You foolish one, tonight your soul is required of you. The things which you have prepared—whose will they be?’

²¹So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

¹³പുരുഷാരത്തിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ അവനോടു: ഗുരോ, ഞാനുമായി അവകാശം പകുതിചെയ്‍വാൻ എന്റെ സഹോദരനോടു കല്പിച്ചാലും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁴അവനോടു അവൻ : മനുഷ്യാ, എന്നെ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ന്യായകർത്താവോ പങ്കിടുന്നവനോ ആക്കിയതു ആർ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

¹⁵പിന്നെ അവരോടു: സകലദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹവും സൂക്ഷിച്ചു ഒഴിഞ്ഞുകൊൾവിൻ ; ഒരുത്തന്നു സമൃദ്ധിഉണ്ടായാലും അവന്റെ വസ്തുവകയല്ല അവന്റെ ജീവന്നു ആധാരമായിരിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁶ഒരുപമയും അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ധനവാനായോരു മനുഷ്യന്റെ ഭൂമി നന്നായി വിളഞ്ഞു.

¹⁷അപ്പോൾ അവൻ : ഞാൻ എന്തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു? എന്റെ വിളവു കൂട്ടിവെപ്പാൻ സ്ഥലം പോരാ എന്നു ഉള്ളിൽ വിചാരിച്ചു.

¹⁸പിന്നെ അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതു: ഞാൻ ഇതു ചെയ്യും; എന്റെ കളപ്പുരകളെ പൊളിച്ചു അധികം വലിയവ പണിതു എന്റെ വിളവും വസ്തുവകയും എല്ലാം അതിൽ കൂട്ടിവേക്കും.

¹⁹എന്നിട്ടു എന്നോടുതന്നേ; നിനക്കു ഏറിയ ആണ്ടുകൾക്കു മതിയായ അനവധി വസ്തുവക സ്വരൂപിച്ചുവെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; ആശ്വസിക്ക, തിന്നുക, കുടിക്ക, ആനന്ദിക്ക എന്നു പറയും. ദൈവമോ അവനോടു:

²⁰മൂഢാ, ഈ രാത്രിയിൽ നിന്റെ പ്രാണനെ നിന്നോടു ചോദിക്കും. പിന്നെ നീ ഒരുക്കിവെച്ചതു ആർക്കാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

²¹ദൈവവിഷയമായി സമ്പന്നനാകാതെ തനിക്കു തന്നേ നിക്ഷേപിക്കുന്നവന്റെ കാര്യം ഇങ്ങനെ ആകുന്നു.

⁴³Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron, “This is the ordinance of the Passover. No foreigner shall eat of it,

⁴⁴but every man’s servant who is bought for money, when you have circumcised him, then shall he eat of it.

⁴⁵A foreigner and a hired servant shall not eat of it.

⁴⁶It must be eaten in one house. You shall not carry any of the meat outside of the house. Do not break any of its bones.

⁴⁷All the congregation of Israel shall keep it.

⁴⁸When a stranger lives as a foreigner with you, and would like to keep the Passover to Yahweh, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it. He shall be as one who is born in the land; but no uncircumcised person shall eat of it.

⁴⁹One law shall be to him who is born at home, and to the stranger who lives as a foreigner among you.”

⁵⁰All the children of Israel did so. As Yahweh commanded Moses and Aaron, so they did.

⁵¹That same day, Yahweh brought the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt by their armies.

⁴³യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടും കല്പിച്ചതു: പെസഹയുടെ ചട്ടം ഇതു ആകുന്നു: അന്യജാതിക്കാരനായ ഒരുത്തനും അതു തിന്നരുതു.

⁴⁴എന്നാൽ ദ്രവ്യം കൊടുത്തു വാങ്ങിയ ദാസന്നു ഒക്കെയും പരിച്ഛേദന ഏറ്റശേഷം അതു തിന്നാം.

⁴⁵പരദേശിയും കൂലിക്കാരനും അതു തിന്നരുതു.

⁴⁶അതതു വീട്ടിൽവെച്ചു തന്നേ അതു തിന്നേണം; ആ മാംസം ഒട്ടും വീട്ടിന്നു പുറത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോകരുതു; അതിൽ ഒരു അസ്ഥിയും ഒടിക്കരുതു.

⁴⁷യിസ്രായേൽസഭ ഒക്കെയും അതു ആചരിക്കേണം.

⁴⁸ഒരു അന്യജാതിക്കാരൻ നിന്നോടുകൂടെ പാർത്തു യഹോവേക്കു പെസഹ ആചരിക്കേണമെങ്കിൽ, അവന്നുള്ള ആണൊക്കെയും പരിച്ഛേദന ഏൽക്കേണം. അതിന്റെ ശേഷം അതു ആചരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്നു അടുത്തുവരാം; അവൻ സ്വദേശിയെപ്പോലെ ആകും. പരിച്ഛേദനയില്ലാത്ത ഒരുത്തനും അതു തിന്നരുതു.

⁴⁹സ്വദേശിക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ പാർക്കുംന്ന പരദേശിക്കും ഒരു ന്യായ പ്രമാണം തന്നേ ആയിരിക്കേണം; യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ ഒക്കെയും അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തു.

⁵⁰യഹോവ മോശെയോടും അഹരോനോടും കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ തന്നേ അവർ ചെയ്തു.

⁵¹അന്നു തന്നേ യഹോവ യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളെ ഗണം ഗണമായി മിസ്രയീംദേശത്തുനിന്നു പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു.

¹Then Job answered,

²“Even today my complaint is rebellious.

³Oh that I knew where I might find him!

⁴I would set my cause in order before him,

⁵I would know the words which he would answer me,

⁶Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power?

⁷There the upright might reason with him,

¹അതിന്നു ഇയ്യോബ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

²ഇന്നും എന്റെ സങ്കടം കൊടിയതാകുന്നു; അവന്റെ കൈ എന്റെ ഞരക്കത്തിന്മേൽ ഭാരമാകുന്നു.

³അവനെ എവിടെ കാണുമെന്നറിഞ്ഞെങ്കിൽ കൊള്ളായിരുന്നു; അവന്റെ ന്യായാസനത്തിങ്കൽ ഞാൻ ചെല്ലുമായിരുന്നു.

⁴ഞാൻ അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ എന്റെ ന്യായം വിവരിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; ന്യായവാദം കോരിച്ചൊരിയുമായിരുന്നു.

⁵അവന്റെ ഉത്തരം അറിയാമായിരുന്നു; അവൻ എന്തു പറയുമെന്നും ഗ്രഹിക്കാമായിരുന്നു.

⁶അവൻ ബലാധിക്യത്തോടെ എന്നോടു വ്യവഹരിക്കുമോ? ഇല്ല; അവൻ എന്നെ ആദരിക്കേയുള്ളു.

⁷അവിടെ നേരുള്ളവൻ അവനോടു വാദിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; ഞാൻ സദാകാലത്തേക്കും എന്റെ ന്യായാധിപന്റെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നു രക്ഷപ്പെടുമായിരുന്നു.

¹Awake, awake! Put on your strength, Zion.

²Shake yourself from the dust!

³For Yahweh says, “You were sold for nothing;

⁴For the Lord Yahweh says:

⁵“Now therefore, what do I do here,” says Yahweh,

⁶Therefore my people shall know my name.

⁷How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news,

⁸Your watchmen lift up their voice.

⁹Break out into joy!

¹⁰Yahweh has made his holy arm bare in the eyes of all the nations.

¹¹Depart! Depart! Go out from there! Touch no unclean thing!

¹²For you shall not go out in haste,

¹³Behold, my servant will deal wisely.

¹⁴Just as many were astonished at you—

¹⁵so he will cleanse many nations.

¹സീയോനേ, ഉണരുക, ഉണരുക, നിന്റെ ബലം ധരിച്ചുകൊൾക; വിശുദ്ധനഗരമായ യെരൂശലേമേ, നിന്റെ അലങ്കാരവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചുകൊൾക; ഇനിമേലാൽ അഗ്രചർ‍മ്മിയും അശുദ്ധനും നിന്നിലേക്കു വരികയില്ല

²പൊടി കുടഞ്ഞുകളക; യെരൂശലേമേ, എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഇരിക്ക; ബദ്ധയായ സീയോൻ പുത്രീ, നിന്റെ കഴുത്തിലെ ബൻ ധനങ്ങളെ അഴിച്ചുകളക

³യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: വിലവാങ്ങാതെ നിങ്ങളെ വിറ്റുകളഞ്ഞു; വിലകൊടുക്കാതെ നിങ്ങളെ വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളും

⁴യഹോവയായ കർ‍ത്താവു ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: എന്റെ ജനം പണ്ടു പരദേശവാസം ചെയ്വാൻ മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെന്നു; അശ്ശൂരും അവരെ വെറുതെ പീഡിപ്പിച്ചു

⁵ഇപ്പോഴോ എന്റെ ജനത്തെ വെറുതെ പിടിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ഇവിടെ എൻ തു ചെയ്യേണ്ടു എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു; അവരുടെ അധിപതിമാർ‍ മുറയിടുന്നു; എന്റെ നാമം ഇടവിടാതെ എല്ലായ്പോഴും ദുഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു എന്നും യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു

⁶അതുകൊണ്ടു എന്റെ ജനം എന്റെ നാമത്തെ അറിയും; അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ‍, ഞാൻ തന്നെയാകുന്നു പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നവൻ എന്നു അവർ‍ അന്നു അറിയും

⁷സമാധാനത്തെ ഘോഷിച്ചു നന്മയെ സുവിശേഷിക്കയും രക്ഷയെ പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കുകയും സീയോനോടു: നിന്റെ ദൈവം വാഴുന്നു എന്നു പറകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന സുവാർ‍ത്താദൂതന്റെ കാൽ പർ‍വ്വതങ്ങളിന്മേൽ എത്ര മനോഹരം!

⁸നിന്റെ കാവൽക്കാരുടെ ശബ്ദം കേട്ടുവോ? അവർ‍ ശബ്ദം ഉയർ‍ത്തി ഒരുപോലെ ഉല്ലസിച്ചു ഘോഷിക്കുന്നു; യഹോവ സീയോനിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിവരുൻ പോൾ അവർ‍ അഭിമുഖമായി കാണും

⁹യെരൂശലേമിന്റെ ശൂൻ യപ്രദേശങ്ങളേ, പൊട്ടി ആർത്തുകൊൾവിൻ ‍; യഹോവ തന്റെ ജനത്തെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിച്ചു, യെരൂശലേമിനെ വീണ്ടേടുത്തിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ

¹⁰സകല ജാതികളും കാൺകെ യഹോവ തന്റെ വിശുദ്ധഭുജത്തെ നഗ്നാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റങ്ങളൊക്കെയും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ രക്ഷയെ കാണും

¹¹വിട്ടു പോരുവിൻ ‍; വിട്ടുപോരുവിൻ ‍; അവിടെ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോരുവിൻ ‍; അശുദ്ധമായതൊന്നും തൊടരുതു; അതിന്റെ നടുവിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോരുവിൻ ‍; യഹോവയുടെ ഉപകരണങ്ങളെ ചുമക്കുന്നവരേ, നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ നിർ‍മ്മലീകരിപ്പിൻ ‍

¹²നിങ്ങൾ ബദ്ധപ്പാടോടെ പോകയില്ല, ഔടിപ്പോകയുമില്ല; യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്കു മുൻ പായി നടക്കും; യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവം നിങ്ങൾക്കു പിൻ പട ആയിരിക്കും

¹³എന്റെ ദാസൻ കൃതാർ‍ത്ഥനാകും; അവൻ ഉയർ‍ന്നുപൊങ്ങി അത്യൻ തം ഉന്നതനായിരിക്കും

¹⁴അവന്റെ രൂപം കണ്ടാൽ ആളല്ല എന്നും അവന്റെ ആകൃതി കണ്ടാൽ മനുഷ്യനല്ല എന്നും തോന്നുമാറു വിരൂപമായിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു പലരും നിന്നെ കണ്ടു സ്തംഭിച്ചുപോയതു പോലെ,

¹⁵അവർ‍ പല ജാതികളെയും കുതിച്ചു ചാടുമാറാക്കും; രാജാക്കന്മാർ‍ അവനെ കണ്ടു വായ്പൊത്തി നിലക്കും; അവർ‍ ഒരിക്കലും അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്തതു കാണുകയും ഒരിക്കലും കേട്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്തതു ഗ്രഹിക്കയും ചെയ്യും

¹⁵For this is the will of God, that by well-doing you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men.

¹⁶Live as free people, yet not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.

¹⁷Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

¹⁵നിങ്ങൾ നന്മ ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടു ബുദ്ധിയില്ലാത്ത മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഭോഷത്വം മിണ്ടാതാക്കേണം എന്നുള്ളതു ദൈവേഷ്ടം ആകുന്നു.

¹⁶സ്വതന്ത്രരായും സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യം ദുഷ്ടതെക്കു മറയാക്കാതെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ദാസന്മാരായും നടപ്പിൻ .

¹⁷എല്ലാവരെയും ബഹുമാനിപ്പിൻ ; സഹോദരവർഗ്ഗത്തെ സ്നേഹിപ്പിൻ ; ദൈവത്തെ ഭയപ്പെടുവിൻ ; രാജാവിനെ ബഹുമാനിപ്പിൻ .

⁹Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals,

¹⁰nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom.

¹¹Some of you were such, but you were washed. You were sanctified. You were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God.

⁹അന്യായം ചെയ്യുന്നവർ ദൈവരാജ്യം അവകാശമാക്കുകയില്ല എന്നു അറിയുന്നില്ലയോ? നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ വഞ്ചിക്കാതിരിപ്പിൻ ; ദുർന്നടപ്പുകാർ, വിഗ്രഹാരാധികൾ, വ്യഭിചാരികൾ, സ്വയഭോഗികൾ, പുരുഷകാമികൾ,

¹⁰കള്ളന്മാർ, അത്യാഗ്രഹികൾ, മദ്യപന്മാർ, വാവിഷ്ഠാണക്കാർ, പിടിച്ചുപറിക്കാർ എന്നിവർ ദൈവരാജ്യം അവകാശമാക്കുകയില്ല.

¹¹നിങ്ങളും ചിലർ ഈ വകക്കാരായിരുന്നു; എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങൾ കർത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ നാമത്തിലും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവിനാലും നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ കഴുകി ശുദ്ധീകരണവും നീതീകരണവും പ്രാപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
