¹³Now when Jesus came into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, “Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?”

¹⁴They said, “Some say John the Baptizer, some, Elijah, and others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

¹⁵He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”

¹⁶Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

¹⁷Jesus answered him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my Father who is in heaven.

¹⁸I also tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my assembly, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.

¹⁹I will give to you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven; and whatever you release on earth will have been released in heaven.”

²⁰Then he commanded the disciples that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ.

¹³യേശു ഫിലിപ്പിന്റെ കൈസര്യയുടെ പ്രദേശത്തു എത്തിയശേഷം തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു: “ജനങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യപുത്രനെ ആർ എന്നു പറയുന്നു?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

¹⁴ചിലർ യോഹന്നാൻ സ്നാപകൻ എന്നും മറ്റു ചിലർ ഏലീയാവെന്നും വേറെ ചിലർ യിരെമ്യാവോ പ്രവാചകന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തനോ എന്നും പറയുന്നു എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁵“നിങ്ങളോ എന്നെ ആർ എന്നു പറയുന്നു” എന്നു അവൻ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു ശിമോൻ പത്രൊസ്:

¹⁶നീ ജീവനുള്ള ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പുത്രനായ ക്രിസ്തുഎന്നും ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁷യേശു അവനോടു: “ബർയോനാശിമോനെ, നീ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ ; ജഡരക്തങ്ങൾ അല്ല, സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ എന്റെ പിതാവത്രെ നിനക്കു ഇതു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയതു.

¹⁸നീ പത്രൊസ് ആകുന്നു; ഈ പാറമേൽ ഞാൻ എന്റെ സഭയെ പണിയും; പാതാളഗോപുരങ്ങൾ അതിനെ ജയിക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു.

¹⁹സ്വർഗ്ഗ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ താക്കോൽ ഞാൻ നിനക്കു തരുന്നു; നീ ഭൂമിയിൽ കെട്ടുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ കെട്ടപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കും; നീ ഭൂമിയിൽ അഴിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ അഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കും” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

²⁰പിന്നെ താൻ ക്രിസ്തു ആകുന്നു എന്നു ആരോടും പറയാതിരിപ്പാൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു കല്പിച്ചു.

¹²The day began to wear away; and the twelve came and said to him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and farms and lodge and get food, for we are here in a deserted place.”

¹³But he said to them, “You give them something to eat.”

¹⁴For they were about five thousand men.

¹⁵They did so, and made them all sit down.

¹⁶He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to the sky, he blessed them, broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the multitude.

¹⁷They ate and were all filled. They gathered up twelve baskets of broken pieces that were left over.

¹²പകൽ കഴിവാറായപ്പോൾ പന്തിരുവർ അടുത്തുവന്നു അവനോടു: ഇവിടെ നാം മരുഭൂമിയിൽ ആയിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു പുരുഷാരം ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ഊരുകളിലും കുടികളിലും പോയി രാത്രി പാർപ്പാനും ആഹാരം വാങ്ങുവാനും വേണ്ടി അവരെ പറഞ്ഞയക്കേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹⁷എല്ലാവരും തിന്നു തൃപ്തരായി, ശേഷിച്ച കഷണം പന്ത്രണ്ടു കൊട്ട എടുത്തു.

²³When they came to Marah, they couldn’t drink from the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore its name was called Marah.

²⁴The people murmured against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?”

²⁵Then he cried to Yahweh. Yahweh showed him a tree, and he threw it into the waters, and the waters were made sweet. There he made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there he tested them.

²⁶He said, “If you will diligently listen to Yahweh your God’s voice, and will do that which is right in his eyes, and will pay attention to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I am Yahweh who heals you.”

²⁷They came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees. They encamped there by the waters.

²³മാറയിൽ എത്തിയാറെ, മാറയിലെ വെള്ളം കുടിപ്പാൻ അവർക്കും കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല; അതു കൈപ്പുള്ളതായിരുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ടു അതിന്നു മാറാ എന്നു പേരിട്ടു.

²⁴അപ്പോൾ ജനം: ഞങ്ങൾ എന്തു കുടിക്കും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു മോശെയുടെ നേരെ പിറുപിറുത്തു.

²⁵അവൻ യഹോവയോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു; യഹോവ അവന്നു ഒരു വൃക്ഷം കാണിച്ചുകൊടുത്തു. അവൻ അതു വെള്ളത്തിൽ ഇട്ടപ്പോൾ വെള്ളം മധുരമായി തീർന്നു. അവിടെവെച്ചു അവൻ അവർക്കും ഒരു ചട്ടവും പ്രമാണവും നിയമിച്ചു; അവിടെവെച്ചു അവൻ അവരെ പരീക്ഷിച്ചു:

²⁶നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ വാക്കു നീ ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ കേട്ടു അവന്നു പ്രസാദമുള്ളതു ചെയ്കയും അവന്റെ കല്പനകളെ അനുസരിച്ചു അവന്റെ സകല വിധികളും പ്രമാണിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ ഞാൻ മിസ്രയീമ്യർക്കും വരുത്തിയ വ്യാധികളിൽ ഒന്നും നിനക്കു വരുത്തുകയില്ല; ഞാൻ നിന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കുന്ന യഹോവ ആകുന്നു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

²⁷പിന്നെ അവർ ഏലീമിൽ എത്തി; അവിടെ പന്ത്രണ്ടു നീരുറവും എഴുപതു ഈത്തപ്പനയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവർ അവിടെ വെള്ളത്തിന്നരികെ പാളയമിറങ്ങി.

⁷It was so, that after Yahweh had spoken these words to Job, Yahweh said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My wrath is kindled against you, and against your two friends; for you have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has.

⁸Now therefore, take to yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you, for I will accept him, that I not deal with you according to your folly. For you have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job has.”

⁹So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went and did what Yahweh commanded them, and Yahweh accepted Job.

¹⁰Yahweh restored Job’s prosperity when he prayed for his friends. Yahweh gave Job twice as much as he had before.

¹¹Then all his brothers, all his sisters, and all those who had been of his acquaintance before, came to him and ate bread with him in his house. They comforted him, and consoled him concerning all the evil that Yahweh had brought on him. Everyone also gave him a piece of money, and everyone a ring of gold.

¹²So Yahweh blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand female donkeys.

¹³He had also seven sons and three daughters.

¹⁴He called the name of the first, Jemimah; and the name of the second, Keziah; and the name of the third, Keren Happuch.

¹⁵In all the land were no women found so beautiful as the daughters of Job. Their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.

¹⁶After this Job lived one hundred forty years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, to four generations.

¹⁷So Job died, being old and full of days.

⁷യഹോവ ഈ വചനങ്ങളെ ഇയ്യോബിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തശേഷം യഹോവ തേമാന്യനായ എലീഫസിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു: നിന്നോടും നിന്റെ രണ്ടു സ്നേഹിതന്മാരോടും എനിക്കു കോപം ജ്വലിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ദാസനായ ഇയ്യോബിനെപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു വിഹിതമായതു സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.

⁸ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ഏഴു കാളയെയും ഏഴു ആട്ടുകൊറ്റനെയും എന്റെ ദാസനായ ഇയ്യോബിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കു വേണ്ടി ഹോമയാഗം കഴിപ്പിൻ ; എന്റെ ദാസനായ ഇയ്യോബ് നിങ്ങൾക്കു വേണ്ടി പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കും; ഞാൻ അവന്റെ മുഖം ആദരിച്ചു നിങ്ങളുടെ മൂഢതെക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം നിങ്ങളോടു ചെയ്യാതിരിക്കും; എന്റെ ദാസനായ ഇയ്യോബിനെപ്പോലെ നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു വിഹിതമായതു സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടില്ലല്ലോ.

⁹അങ്ങനെ തേമാന്യനായ എലീഫസും ശൂഹ്യനായ ബിൽദാദും നയമാത്യനായ സോഫരും ചെന്നു യഹോവ തങ്ങളോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ചെയ്തു; യഹോവ ഇയ്യോബിന്റെ മുഖത്തെ ആദരിച്ചു.

¹⁰ഇയ്യോബ് തന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാർക്കും വേണ്ടി പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചപ്പോൾ യഹോവ അവന്റെ സ്ഥിതിക്കു ഭേദം വരുത്തി മുമ്പെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതൊക്കെയും യഹോവ ഇയ്യോബിന്നു ഇരട്ടിയായി കൊടുത്തു.

¹¹അവന്റെ സകലസഹോദരന്മാരും സഹോദരിമാരും മുമ്പെ അവന്നു പരിചയമുള്ളവരൊക്കെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു അവന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ അവനോടുകൂടെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചു; യഹോവ അവന്റെമേൽ വരുത്തിയിരുന്ന സകലഅനർത്ഥത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു അവർ അവനോടു സഹതാപം കാണിച്ചു അവനെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിച്ചു; ഔരോരുത്തനും അവന്നു ഔരോ പൊൻ നാണ്യവും ഔരോ പൊൻ മോതിരവും കൊടുത്തു.

¹²ഇങ്ങനെ യഹോവ ഇയ്യോബിന്റെ പിൻ കാലത്തെ അവന്റെ മുൻ കാലത്തെക്കാൾ അധികം അനുഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അവന്നു പതിന്നാലായിരം ആടും ആറായിരം ഒട്ടകവും ആയിരം ഏർ കാളയും ആയിരം പെൺകഴുതയും ഉണ്ടായി.

¹³അവന്നു ഏഴു പുത്രന്മാരും മൂന്നു പുത്രിമാരും ഉണ്ടായി.

¹⁴മൂത്തവൾക്കു അവൻ യെമീമാ എന്നും രണ്ടാമത്തെവൾക്കു കെസീയാ എന്നും മൂന്നാമത്തവൾക്കു കേരെൻ -ഹപ്പൂൿ എന്നും പേർ വിളിച്ചു.

¹⁵ഇയ്യോബിന്റെ പുത്രിമാരെപ്പോലെ സൗന്ദര്യമുള്ള സ്ത്രീകൾ ദേശത്തെങ്ങും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; അവരുടെ അപ്പൻ അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരോടുകൂടെ അവർക്കും അവകാശം കൊടുത്തു.

¹⁶അതിന്റെശേഷം ഇയ്യോബ് നൂറ്റിനാല്പതു സംവത്സരം ജീവിച്ചിരുന്നു; അവൻ മക്കളെയും മക്കളുടെ മക്കളെയും നാലു തലമുറയോളം കണ്ടു.

¹⁷അങ്ങനെ ഇയ്യോബ് വൃദ്ധനും കാലസമ്പൂർണ്ണനുമായി മരിച്ചു.

¹Praise Yah!

²His offspring will be mighty in the land.

³Wealth and riches are in his house.

⁴Light dawns in the darkness for the upright,

⁵It is well with the man who deals graciously and lends.

⁶For he will never be shaken.

⁷He will not be afraid of evil news.

⁸His heart is established.

⁹He has dispersed, he has given to the poor.

¹⁰The wicked will see it, and be grieved.

¹യഹോവയെ സ്തുതിപ്പിൻ . യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു, അവന്റെ കല്പനകളിൽ ഏറ്റവും ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ .

²അവന്റെ സന്തതി ഭൂമിയിൽ ബലപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കും; നേരുള്ളവരുടെ തലമുറ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും.

⁴നേരുള്ളവർക്കും ഇരുട്ടിൽ വെളിച്ചം ഉദിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ കൃപയും കരുണയും നീതിയും ഉള്ളവനാകുന്നു.

⁵കൃപതോന്നി വായ്പകൊടുക്കുന്നവൻ ശുഭമായിരിക്കും; വ്യവഹാരത്തിൽ അവൻ തന്റെ കാര്യം നേടും.

⁶അവൻ ഒരു നാളും കുലുങ്ങിപ്പോകയില്ല; നീതിമാൻ എന്നേക്കും ഔർമ്മയിൽ ഇരിക്കും.

⁷ദുർവ്വർത്തമാനംനിമിത്തം അവൻ ഭയപ്പെടുകയില്ല; അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം യഹോവയിൽ ആശ്രയിച്ചു ഉറെച്ചിരിക്കും.

⁸അവന്റെ ഹൃദയം ഭയപ്പെടാതെ സ്ഥിരമായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ ശത്രുക്കളിൽ തന്റെ ആഗ്രഹം നിവർത്തിച്ചുകാണും.

⁹അവൻ വാരി വിതറി ദരിദ്രന്മാർക്കും കൊടുക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ നീതി എന്നേക്കും നിലനിലക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ കൊമ്പു ബഹുമാനത്തോടെ ഉയർന്നിരിക്കും.

¹⁰ദുഷ്ടൻ അതു കണ്ടു വ്യസനിക്കും; അവൻ പല്ലുകടിച്ചു ഉരുകിപ്പോകും; ദുഷ്ടന്റെ ആശ നശിച്ചുപോകും.

²³When they had appointed him a day, many people came to him at his lodging. He explained to them, testifying about God’s Kingdom, and persuading them concerning Jesus, both from the law of Moses and from the prophets, from morning until evening.

²⁴Some believed the things which were spoken, and some disbelieved.

²⁵When they didn’t agree among themselves, they departed after Paul had spoken one message: “The Holy Spirit spoke rightly through Isaiah the prophet to our fathers,

²⁶saying,

²⁷For this people’s heart has grown callous.

²⁸“Be it known therefore to you that the salvation of God is sent to the nations, and they will listen.”

²⁹When he had said these words, the Jews departed, having a great dispute among themselves.

³⁰Paul stayed two whole years in his own rented house and received all who were coming to him,

⁵For Moses writes about the righteousness of the law, “The one who does them will live by them.”

⁶But the righteousness which is of faith says this, “Don’t say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ (that is, to bring Christ down);

⁷or, ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead.)”

⁸But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart;” that is, the word of faith which we preach:

⁹that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

¹⁰For with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation.

¹¹For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes in him will not be disappointed.”

¹²For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich to all who call on him.

¹³For, “Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.”

¹⁴How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in him whom they have not heard? How will they hear without a preacher?

¹⁵And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:

¹⁶But they didn’t all listen to the glad news. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”

¹⁷So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

¹⁸But I say, didn’t they hear? Yes, most certainly,

¹⁹But I ask, didn’t Israel know? First Moses says,

²⁰Isaiah is very bold and says,

²¹But about Israel he says, “All day long I stretched out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”

⁵ന്യായപ്രമാണത്താലുള്ള നീതി സംബന്ധിച്ചു: “അതു ചെയ്ത മനുഷ്യൻ അതിനാൽ ജീവിക്കും” എന്നു മോശെ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

⁷ക്രിസ്തുവിനെ മരിച്ചവരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്നു കയറ്റേണം എന്നു വിചാരിച്ചു ആർ പാതാളത്തിൽ ഇറങ്ങും എന്നോ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ പറയരുതു.”

⁸എന്നാൽ അതു എന്തു പറയുന്നു? “വചനം നിനക്കു സമീപമായി നിന്റെ വായിലും നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിലും ഇരിക്കുന്നു;” അതു ഞങ്ങൾ പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്ന വിശ്വാസ വചനം തന്നേ.

⁹യേശുവിനെ കർത്താവു എന്നു വായികൊണ്ടു ഏറ്റുപറകയും ദൈവം അവനെ മരിച്ചവരിൽ നിന്നു ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിച്ചു എന്നു ഹൃദയംകൊണ്ടു വിശ്വസിക്കയും ചെയ്താൽ നീ രക്ഷപ്പെടും.

¹⁰ഹൃദയം കൊണ്ടു നീതിക്കായി വിശ്വസിക്കയും വായികൊണ്ടു രക്ഷെക്കായി ഏറ്റുപറകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

¹¹“അവനിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവൻ ഒരുത്തനും ലജ്ജിച്ചു പോകയില്ല” എന്നു തിരുവെഴുത്തിൽ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നുവല്ലോ.

¹²യെഹൂദൻ എന്നും യവനൻ എന്നും വ്യത്യാസമില്ല; എല്ലാവർക്കും കർത്താവു ഒരുവൻ തന്നേ; അവൻ തന്നെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവർക്കും നൽകുവാന്തക്കവണ്ണം സമ്പന്നൻ ആകുന്നു.

¹³“കർത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കുന്ന ഏവനും രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും” എന്നുണ്ടല്ലോ.

¹⁴എന്നാൽ അവർ വിശ്വസിക്കാത്തവനെ എങ്ങനെ വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കും? അവർ കേട്ടിട്ടില്ലാത്തവനിൽ എങ്ങനെ വിശ്വസിക്കും? പ്രസംഗിക്കുന്നവൻ ഇല്ലാതെ എങ്ങനെ കേൾക്കും? ആരും അയക്കാതെ എങ്ങനെ പ്രസംഗിക്കും? “നന്മ സുവിശേഷിക്കുന്നവരുടെ കാൽ എത്ര മനോഹരം” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

¹⁶എങ്കിലും എല്ലാവരും സുവിശേഷം അനുസരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല: “കർത്താവേ, ഞങ്ങൾ കേൾപ്പിച്ചതു ആർ വിശ്വസിച്ചു” എന്നു യെശയ്യാവു പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

¹⁷ആകയാൽ വിശ്വാസം കേൾവിയാലും കേൾവി ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ വചനത്താലും വരുന്നു.

¹⁸എന്നാൽ അവർ കേട്ടില്ലയോ എന്നു ഞാൻ ചോദിക്കുന്നു. കേട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു നിശ്ചയം: “അവരുടെ നാദം സർവ്വ ഭൂമിയിലും അവരുടെ വചനം ഭൂതലത്തിന്റെ അറ്റത്തോളവും പരന്നു.”

¹⁹എന്നാൽ യിസ്രായേൽ ഗ്രഹിച്ചില്ലയോ എന്നു ഞാൻ ചോദിക്കുന്നു. “ജനമല്ലാത്തവരെക്കൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എരിവു വരുത്തും; മൂഡജാതിയെക്കൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങൾക്കു കോപം ജനിപ്പിക്കും” എന്നു ഒന്നാമതു മോശെ പറയുന്നു.

²⁰യെശയ്യാവോ: “എന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കാത്തവർ എന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തി; എന്നെ ചോദിക്കാത്തവർക്കും ഞാൻ പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി” എന്നു ധൈര്യത്തോടെ പറയുന്നു.

²¹യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കുറിച്ചോ: “അനുസരിക്കാത്തതും മറുത്തുപറയുന്നതുമായ ജനത്തിങ്കലേക്കു ഞാൻ ഇടവിടാതെ കൈനീട്ടി” എന്നു അവൻ പറയുന്നു.

¹In that hour the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who then is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven?”

²Jesus called a little child to himself, and set him in the middle of them

³and said, “Most certainly I tell you, unless you turn and become as little children, you will in no way enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

⁴Whoever therefore humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

⁵Whoever receives one such little child in my name receives me,

⁶but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck and that he were sunk in the depths of the sea.

⁷“Woe to the world because of occasions of stumbling! For it must be that the occasions come, but woe to that person through whom the occasion comes!

⁸If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life maimed or crippled, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into the eternal fire.

⁹If your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out and cast it from you. It is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the Gehenna of fire.

¹⁰See that you don’t despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven.

¹¹For the Son of Man came to save that which was lost.

¹ആ നാഴികയിൽ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കെ വന്നു. സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും വലിയവൻ ആർ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

²അവൻ ഒരു ശിശുവിനെ അടുക്കെ വിളിച്ചു അവരുടെ നടുവിൽ നിറുത്തി;

³“നിങ്ങൾ തിരിഞ്ഞു ശിശുക്കളെപ്പോലെ ആയ്‍വരുന്നില്ല എങ്കിൽ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടക്കയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

⁴ആകയാൽ ഈ ശിശുവിനെപ്പോലെ തന്നെത്താൻ താഴ്ത്തുന്നവൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യത്തിൽ ഏറ്റവും വലിയവൻ ആകുന്നു.

⁵ഇങ്ങിനെയുള്ള ശിശുവിനെ എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ കൈകൊള്ളുന്നവൻ എന്നെ കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നു.

⁶എന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഈ ചെറിയവരിൽ ഒരുത്തന്നു ആരെങ്കിലും ഇടർച്ച വരുത്തിയാലോ അവന്റെ കഴുത്തിൽ വലിയോരു തിരിക്കല്ലു കെട്ടി അവനെ സമുദ്രത്തിന്റെ ആഴത്തിൽ താഴ്ത്തിക്കളയുന്നതു അവന്നു നന്നു.

⁷ഇടർച്ച ഹേതുവായി ലോകത്തിന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം; ഇടർച്ച വരുന്നതു ആവശ്യം തന്നേ; എങ്കിലും ഇടർച്ച വരുത്തുന്ന മനുഷ്യന്നു അയ്യോ കഷ്ടം.

⁸നിന്റെ കയ്യോ കാലോ നിനക്കു ഇടർച്ച ആയാൽ അതിനെ വെട്ടി എറിഞ്ഞുകളക; രണ്ടു കയ്യും രണ്ടു കാലും ഉള്ളവനായി നിത്യാഗ്നിയിൽ വീഴുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ അംഗഹീനനായിട്ടോ മുടന്തനായിട്ടോ ജീവനിൽ കടക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു നന്നു.

⁹നിന്റെ കണ്ണു നിനക്കു ഇടർച്ച ആയാൽ അതിനെ ചൂന്നെടുത്തു എറിഞ്ഞുകളക; രണ്ടു കണ്ണുള്ളവനായി അഗ്നിനരകത്തിൽ വീഴുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ ഒറ്റക്കണ്ണനായി ജീവനിൽ കടക്കുന്നതു നിനക്കു നന്നു.

¹⁰ഈ ചെറിയവരിൽ ഒരുത്തനെ തുച്ഛീകരിക്കാതിരിപ്പാൻ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ .

¹¹സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ അവരുടെ ദൂതന്മാർ സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ മുഖം എപ്പോഴും കാണുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
