¹Meanwhile, when a multitude of many thousands had gathered together, so much so that they trampled on each other, he began to tell his disciples first of all, “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

²But there is nothing covered up that will not be revealed, nor hidden that will not be known.

³Therefore whatever you have said in the darkness will be heard in the light. What you have spoken in the ear in the inner rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.

⁴“I tell you, my friends, don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

⁵But I will warn you whom you should fear. Fear him who after he has killed, has power to cast into Gehenna. Yes, I tell you, fear him.

⁶“Aren’t five sparrows sold for two assaria coins ? Not one of them is forgotten by God.

⁷But the very hairs of your head are all counted. Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.

⁸“I tell you, everyone who confesses me before men, the Son of Man will also confess before the angels of God;

⁹but he who denies me in the presence of men will be denied in the presence of God’s angels.

¹⁰Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but those who blaspheme against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

¹¹When they bring you before the synagogues, the rulers, and the authorities, don’t be anxious how or what you will answer or what you will say;

¹²for the Holy Spirit will teach you in that same hour what you must say.”

¹⁶“Behold, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.

¹⁷But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you.

¹⁸Yes, and you will be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony to them and to the nations.

¹⁹But when they deliver you up, don’t be anxious how or what you will say, for it will be given you in that hour what you will say.

²⁰For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

²¹“Brother will deliver up brother to death, and the father his child. Children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.

²²You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved.

²³But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the next, for most certainly I tell you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel until the Son of Man has come.

²⁴“A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his lord.

²⁵It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!

²⁶Therefore don’t be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known.

²⁷What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.

²⁸Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.

²⁹“Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion coin? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will.

³⁰But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

³¹Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.

³²Everyone therefore who confesses me before men, I will also confess him before my Father who is in heaven.

³³But whoever denies me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven.

¹“Woe to the rebellious children”, says Yahweh, “who take counsel, but not from me; and who make an alliance, but not with my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin;

²who set out to go down into Egypt without asking for my advice, to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to take refuge in the shadow of Egypt!

³Therefore the strength of Pharaoh will be your shame, and the refuge in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

⁴For their princes are at Zoan, and their ambassadors have come to Hanes.

¹പാപത്തോടു പാപം കൂട്ടുവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം എന്നെ കൂടാതെ ആലോചന കഴിക്കയും എന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ കൂടാതെ സഖ്യത ചെയ്കയും

¹⁴Nebuchadnezzar answered them, “Is it true, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, that you don’t serve my gods and you don’t worship the golden image which I have set up?

¹⁵Now if you are ready whenever you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music to fall down and worship the image which I have made, good; but if you don’t worship, you shall be cast the same hour into the middle of a burning fiery furnace. Who is that god who will deliver you out of my hands?”

¹⁶Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king, “Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter.

¹⁷If it happens, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace; and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king.

¹⁸But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image which you have set up.”

¹⁹Then Nebuchadnezzar was full of fury, and the form of his appearance was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He spoke, and commanded that they should heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated.

²⁰He commanded certain mighty men who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

²¹Then these men were bound in their pants, their tunics, and their mantles, and their other clothes, and were cast into the middle of the burning fiery furnace.

²²Therefore because the king’s commandment was urgent and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

²³These three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the middle of the burning fiery furnace.

²⁴Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished and rose up in haste. He spoke and said to his counselors, “Didn’t we cast three men bound into the middle of the fire?”

²⁵He answered, “Look, I see four men loose, walking in the middle of the fire, and they are unharmed. The appearance of the fourth is like a son of the gods. ”

²²രാജകല്പന കർശനമായിരിക്കകൊണ്ടും ചൂള അത്യന്തം ചൂടായിരിക്കകൊണ്ടും ശദ്രക്കിനെയും മേശക്കിനെയും അബേദ്നെഗോവെയും എടുത്തു കൊണ്ടുപോയ പുരുഷന്മാരെ അഗ്നിജ്വാല ദഹിപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു.

²³ശദ്രക്, മേശക്, അബേദ്നെഗോ എന്നീ മൂന്നു പുരുഷന്മാരോ ബന്ധിക്കപ്പെട്ടവരായി എരിയുന്ന തീച്ചൂളയിൽ വീണു.

¹⁹But Peter and John answered them, “Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you rather than to God, judge for yourselves,

²⁰for we can’t help telling the things which we saw and heard.”

²¹When they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding no way to punish them, because of the people; for everyone glorified God for that which was done.

²²For the man on whom this miracle of healing was performed was more than forty years old.

²³Being let go, they came to their own company and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said to them.

²⁴When they heard it, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord and said, “O Lord, you are God, who made the sky, the earth, the sea, and all that is in them;

²⁵who by the mouth of your servant David, said,

²⁶The kings of the earth take a stand,

²⁷“For truly, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the people of Israel, were gathered together against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed,

²⁸to do whatever your hand and your counsel foreordained to happen.

²⁹Now, Lord, look at their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your word with all boldness,

³⁰while you stretch out your hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of your holy Servant Jesus.”

³¹When they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were gathered together. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.

³²The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.

³³With great power, the apostles gave their testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. Great grace was on them all.

²³വിട്ടയച്ചശേഷം അവർ കൂട്ടാളികളുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരും മൂപ്പന്മാരും തങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞതു എല്ലാം അറിയിച്ചു.

²⁴അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവർ ഒരുമനപ്പെട്ടു ദൈവത്തോടു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞതു: ആകശവും ഭൂമിയും സമുദ്രവും അവയിലുള്ള സകലവും ഉണ്ടാക്കിയ നാഥനേ,

²⁵“ജാതികൾ കലഹിക്കുന്നതും വംശങ്ങൾ വ്യർത്ഥമായതു നിരൂപിക്കുന്നതും എന്തു?

²⁶ഭൂമിയിലെ രാജാക്കന്മാർഅണിനിരക്കുകയും അധിപതികൾ കർത്താവിന്നു വിരോധമായും അവന്റെ അഭിഷിക്തന്നു വിരോധമായും ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു നിന്റെ ദാസനായ ദാവീദ് മുഖാന്തരം പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിനാൽ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തവനേ,

²⁷നീ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്ത യേശു എന്ന നിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധദാസനു വിരോധമായി ഹെരോദാവും പൊന്തിയൊസ് പീലാത്തൊസും ജാതികളും യിസ്രായേൽ ജനവുമായി ഈ നഗരത്തിൽ ഒന്നിച്ചുകൂടി,

²⁸സംഭവിക്കേണം എന്നു നിന്റെ കയ്യും നിന്റെ ആലോചനയും മുന്നിയമിച്ചതു ഒക്കെയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു സത്യം.

²⁹ഇപ്പോഴോ കർത്താവേ, അവരുടെ ഭീഷണികളെ നോക്കേണമേ.

³⁰സൗഖ്യമാക്കുവാൻ നിന്റെ കൈ നീട്ടുന്നതിനാലും നിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധദാസനായ യേശുവിന്റെ നാമത്താൽ അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടാകുന്നതിനാലും നിന്റെ വചനം പൂർണ്ണധൈര്യത്തോടും കൂടെ പ്രസ്താവിപ്പാൻ നിന്റെ ദാസന്മാർക്കും കൃപ നല്കേണമേ.

³¹ഇങ്ങനെ പ്രാർത്ഥിച്ചപ്പോൾ അവർ കൂടിയിരുന്ന സ്ഥലം കുലുങ്ങി; എല്ലാവരും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവു നിറഞ്ഞവരായി ദൈവവചനം ധൈര്യത്തോടെ പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു.

³²വിശ്വസിച്ചവരുടെ കൂട്ടം ഏകഹൃദയവും ഏകമനസ്സും ഉള്ളവരായിരുന്നു; തനിക്കുള്ളതു ഒന്നും സ്വന്തം എന്നു ആരും പറഞ്ഞില്ല;

³³സകലവും അവർക്കും പൊതുവായിരുന്നു. അപ്പൊസ്തലന്മാർ മഹാശക്തിയോടെ കർത്താവായ യേശുവിന്റെ പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തിനു സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞുവന്നു; എല്ലാവർക്കും ധാരാളം കൃപ ലഭിച്ചിരുന്നു.

³¹What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

³²He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?

³³Who could bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies.

³⁴Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

³⁵Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

³⁶Even as it is written,

³⁷No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

³⁸For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

³⁹nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing will be able to separate us from God’s love which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

³¹ഇതു സംബന്ധിച്ചു നാം എന്തു പറയേണ്ടു? ദൈവം നമുക്കു അനുകൂലം എങ്കിൽ നമുക്കു പ്രതികൂലം ആർ?

³²സ്വന്തപുത്രനെ ആദരിക്കാതെ നമുക്കു എല്ലാവർക്കും വേണ്ടി ഏല്പിച്ചുതന്നവൻ അവനോടുകൂടെ സകലവും നമുക്കു നല്കാതിരിക്കുമോ?

³³ദൈവം തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തവരെ ആർ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തും? നീതീകരിക്കുന്നവൻ ദൈവം.

³⁴ശിക്ഷവിധിക്കുന്നവൻ ആർ? ക്രിസ്തുയേശു മരിച്ചവൻ ; മരിച്ചിട്ടു ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേറ്റവൻ തന്നേ; അവൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ വലത്തുഭാഗത്തിരിക്കയും നമുക്കുവേണ്ടി പക്ഷവാദം കഴിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

³⁵ക്രിസ്തുവിന്റെ സ്നേഹത്തിൽനിന്നു നമ്മെ വേർപിരിക്കുന്നതാർ? കഷ്ടതയോ സങ്കടമോ ഉപദ്രവമോ പട്ടിണിയോ നഗ്നതയോ ആപത്തോ വാളോ?

³⁶“നിന്റെ നിമിത്തം ഞങ്ങളെ ഇടവിടാതെ കൊല്ലുന്നു; അറുപ്പാനുള്ള ആടുകളെപ്പൊലെ ഞങ്ങളെ എണ്ണുന്നു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

³⁷നാമോ നമ്മെ സ്നേഹിച്ചവൻ മുഖാന്തരം ഇതിൽ ഒക്കെയും പൂർണ്ണജയം പ്രാപിക്കുന്നു.

³⁸മരണത്തിന്നോ ജീവന്നോ ദൂതന്മാർക്കോ വാഴ്ചകൾക്കോ അധികാരങ്ങൾക്കോ ഇപ്പോഴുള്ളതിന്നോ വരുവാനുള്ളതിന്നോ ഉയരത്തിന്നോ ആഴത്തിന്നോ മറ്റു യാതൊരു സൃഷ്ടിക്കോ

³⁹നമ്മുടെ കർത്താവായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിലുള്ള ദൈവസ്നേഹത്തിൽ നിന്നു നമ്മെ വേറുപിരിപ്പാൻ കഴികയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ ഉറെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

³⁴He called the multitude to himself with his disciples and said to them, “Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

³⁵For whoever wants to save his life will lose it; and whoever will lose his life for my sake and the sake of the Good News will save it.

³⁶For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life?

³⁷For what will a man give in exchange for his life?

³⁸For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man also will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father’s glory with the holy angels.”

³⁴പിന്നെ അവൻ പുരുഷാരത്തെയും തന്റെ ശീഷ്യന്മാരെയും അരികെ വിളിച്ചു അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഒരുവൻ എന്നെ അനുഗമിപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചാൽ അവൻ തന്നെത്താൻ ത്യജിച്ചു തന്റെ ക്രൂശ് എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കട്ടെ.

³⁵ആരെങ്കിലും തന്റെ ജീവനെ രക്ഷിപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചാൽ അതിനെ കളയു; ആരെങ്കിലും എന്റെയും സുവിശേഷത്തിന്റെയും നിമിത്തം തന്റെ ജീവനെ കളഞ്ഞാൽ അതിനെ രക്ഷിക്കും.

³⁶ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ സർവ്വലോകവും നേടുകയും തന്റെ ജീവനെ കളകയും ചെയ്താൽ അവന്നു എന്തു പ്രയോജനം?

³⁷അല്ല, തന്റെ ജീവന്നു വേണ്ടി മനുഷ്യൻ എന്തൊരു മറുവില കൊടുക്കും;

³⁸വ്യഭിചാരവും പാപവും ഉള്ള ഈ തലമുറയിൽ ആരെങ്കിലും എന്നെയും എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെയും കുറിച്ചു നാണിച്ചാൽ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു മനുഷ്യപുത്രനും തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ തേജസ്സിൽ വിശുദ്ധ ദൂതന്മാരുമായി വരുമ്പോൾ നാണിക്കും;
