²⁸Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

²⁹When he came near to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the mountain that is called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples,

³⁰saying, “Go your way into the village on the other side, in which, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, which no man has ever sat upon. Untie it and bring it.

³¹If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say to him: ‘The Lord needs it.’ ”

³²Those who were sent went away and found things just as he had told them.

³³As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”

³⁴They said, “The Lord needs it.”

³⁵Then they brought it to Jesus. They threw their cloaks on the colt and sat Jesus on them.

³⁶As he went, they spread their cloaks on the road.

³⁷As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen,

³⁸saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!”

³⁹Some of the Pharisees from the multitude said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”

⁴⁰He answered them, “I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out.”

⁴¹When he came near, he saw the city and wept over it,

⁴²saying, “If you, even you, had known today the things which belong to your peace! But now, they are hidden from your eyes.

⁴³For the days will come on you when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, surround you, hem you in on every side,

⁴⁴and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. They will not leave in you one stone on another, because you didn’t know the time of your visitation.”

²⁸ഇതു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവൻ മുമ്പായി നടന്നുകൊണ്ടു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു യാത്ര ചെയ്തു.

²⁹അവൻ ഒലീവ് മലയരികെ ബേത്ത്ഫാഗെക്കും ബേഥാന്യെക്കും സമീപിച്ചപ്പോൾ ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ രണ്ടുപേരെ അയച്ചു:

³⁰നിങ്ങൾക്കു എതിരെയുള്ള ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ ചെല്ലുവിൻ ; അതിൽ കടക്കുമ്പോൾ ആരും ഒരിക്കലും കയറീട്ടില്ലാത്ത ഒരു കഴുതകൂട്ടിയെ കെട്ടീയിരിക്കുന്നതു കാണും; അതിനെ അഴിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവരുവിൻ .

³²അയക്കപ്പെട്ടവർ പോയി തങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞതു പോലെ കണ്ടു.

³³കഴുതകുട്ടിയെ അഴിക്കുമ്പോൾ അതിന്റെ ഉടയവർ: കഴുതകൂട്ടിയെ അഴിക്കന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു:

³⁴കർത്താവിനു ഇതിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁵അതിനെ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം കഴുതകൂട്ടിമേൽ ഇട്ടു യേശുവിനെ കയറ്റി.

³⁶അവൻ പോകുമ്പോൾ അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം വഴിയിൽ വിരിച്ചു.

³⁷അവൻ ഒലീവുമലയുടെ ഇറക്കത്തിന്നു അടുത്തപ്പോൾ ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടം എല്ലാം തങ്ങൾ കണ്ട സകല വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികളെയും കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷിച്ചു അത്യുച്ചത്തിൽ ദൈവത്തെ പുകഴ്ത്തി:

³⁸കർത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വരുന്ന രാജാവു വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ ; സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ സമാധാനവും അത്യുന്നതങ്ങളിൽ മഹത്വവും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁹പുരുഷാരത്തിൽ ചില പരീശന്മാരോ അവനോടു: ഗുരോ, നിന്റെ ശീഷ്യന്മാരെ വിലക്കുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁴⁰അതിന്നു അവൻ : ഇവർ മണ്ടാതിരുന്നാൽ കല്ലുകൾ ആർത്തുവിളിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

¹When they came near to Jerusalem and came to Bethsphage, to the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,

²saying to them, “Go into the village that is opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Untie them and bring them to me.

³If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, ‘The Lord needs them,’ and immediately he will send them.”

⁴All this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet, saying,

⁵“Tell the daughter of Zion,

⁶The disciples went and did just as Jesus commanded them,

⁷and brought the donkey and the colt and laid their clothes on them; and he sat on them.

⁸A very great multitude spread their clothes on the road. Others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

⁹The multitudes who went in front of him, and those who followed, kept shouting, “Hosanna to the son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

¹⁰When he had come into Jerusalem, all the city was stirred up, saying, “Who is this?”

¹¹The multitudes said, “This is the prophet, Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.”

¹²Jesus entered into the temple of God and drove out all of those who sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the money changers’ tables and the seats of those who sold the doves.

¹³He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers!”

¹⁴The lame and the blind came to him in the temple, and he healed them.

¹⁵But when the chief priests and the scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children who were crying in the temple and saying, “Hosanna to the son of David!” they were indignant,

¹⁶and said to him, “Do you hear what these are saying?”

¹⁷He left them and went out of the city to Bethany, and camped there.

¹അനന്തരം അവർ യെരൂശലേമിനോടു സമീപിച്ചു ഒലിവുമലയരികെ ബേത്ത്ഫഗയിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ, യേശു രണ്ടു ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ അയച്ചു:

⁹മുന്നും പിന്നും നടന്ന പുരുഷാരം: ദാവീദ് പുത്രന്നു ഹോശന്നാ; കർത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വരുന്നവൻ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ ; അത്യുന്നതങ്ങളിൽ ഹോശന്നാ എന്നു ആർത്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

¹⁰അവൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ കടന്നപ്പോൾ നഗരം മുഴുവനും ഇളകി: ഇവൻ ആർ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

¹¹ഇവൻ ഗലീലയിലെ നസറെത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ള പ്രവാചകനായ യേശു എന്നു പുരുഷാരം പറഞ്ഞു.

¹²യേശു ദൈവലായത്തിൽ ചെന്നു, ദൈവാലയത്തിൽ വിൽക്കുന്നവരെയും കൊള്ളുന്നവരെയും എല്ലാം പുറത്താക്കി, പൊൻ വാണിഭക്കാരുടെ മേശകളെയും പ്രാവുകളെ വിലക്കുന്നവരുടെ പീഠങ്ങളെയും മറിച്ചു കളഞ്ഞു അവരോടു:

¹⁶ഇവൻ പറയുന്നതു കേൾക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചു. യേശു അവരോടു: “ഉവ്വു: ശിശുക്കളുടെയും മുലകുടിക്കുന്നവരുടെയും വായിൽ നിന്നു നീ പുകഴ്ച ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നുള്ളതു നിങ്ങൾ ഒരിക്കലും വായിച്ചിട്ടല്ലയോ” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

¹When they came near to Jerusalem, to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples

³If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs him;’ and immediately he will send him back here.”

⁴They went away, and found a young donkey tied at the door outside in the open street, and they untied him.

⁵Some of those who stood there asked them, “What are you doing, untying the young donkey?”

⁶They said to them just as Jesus had said, and they let them go.

⁷They brought the young donkey to Jesus and threw their garments on it, and Jesus sat on it.

⁸Many spread their garments on the way, and others were cutting down branches from the trees and spreading them on the road.

⁹Those who went in front and those who followed cried out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!

¹⁰Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is coming in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

¹¹Jesus entered into the temple in Jerusalem. When he had looked around at everything, it being now evening, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.

¹അവർ യെരൂശലേമിനോടു സമീപിച്ചു ഒലീവ് മലയരികെ ബേത്ത്ഫാഗയിലും ബേഥാന്യയിലും എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ രണ്ടുപേരെ അയച്ചു അവരോടു:

⁶യേശു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവർ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു; അവർ അവരെ വിട്ടയച്ചു.

⁷അവർ കഴുതകൂട്ടിയെ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം അതിന്മേൽ ഇട്ടു; അവൻ അതിന്മേൽ കയറി ഇരുന്നു.

⁸അനേകർ തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം വഴിയിൽ വിരിച്ചു; മറ്റു ചിലർ പറമ്പുകളിൽ നിന്നു ചില്ലിക്കൊമ്പു വെട്ടി വഴിയിൽ വിതറി.

⁹മുമ്പും പിമ്പും നടക്കുന്നവർ: ഹോശന്നാ, കർത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വരുന്നവൻ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ :

¹⁰വരുന്നതായ രാജ്യം, നമ്മുടെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ രാജ്യം വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ; അത്യുന്നതങ്ങളിൽ ഹോശന്നാ എന്നു ആർത്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

¹¹അവൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ ദൈവാലയത്തിലേക്കു ചെന്നു സകലവും ചുറ്റും നോക്കിയ ശേഷം നേരം വൈകിയതുകൊണ്ടു പന്തിരുവരോടും കൂടെ ബേഥാന്യയിലേക്കു പോയി.

⁸“Judah, your brothers will praise you.

⁹Judah is a lion’s cub.

¹⁰The scepter will not depart from Judah,

¹¹Binding his foal to the vine,

¹²His eyes will be red with wine,

¹³“Zebulun will dwell at the haven of the sea.

¹⁴“Issachar is a strong donkey,

¹⁵He saw a resting place, that it was good,

⁸യെഹൂദയേ, സഹോദരന്മാർ നിന്നെ പുകഴ്ത്തും; നിന്റെ കൈ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ കഴുത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കും; അപ്പന്റെ മക്കൾ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നമസ്കരിക്കും.

¹¹അവൻ മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയോടു ചെറുകഴുതയെയും വിശിഷ്ടമുന്തിരിവള്ളിയോടു കഴുതകൂട്ടിയെയും കെട്ടുന്നു; അവൻ വീഞ്ഞിൽ തന്റെ ഉടുപ്പും ദ്രാക്ഷാരസത്തിൽ തന്റെ വസ്ത്രവും അലക്കുന്നു.

¹²അവന്റെ കണ്ണു വീഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു ചുവന്നും അവന്റെ പല്ലു പാലുകൊണ്ടു വെളുത്തും ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

¹³സെബൂലൂൻ സമുദ്രതീരത്തു വസിക്കും; അവൻ കപ്പൽതുറമുഖത്തു പാർക്കും; അവന്റെ പാർശ്വം സീദോൻ വരെ ആകും.

¹⁴യിസ്സാഖാർ അസ്ഥിബലമുള്ള കഴുത; അവൻ തൊഴുത്തുകളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ കിടക്കുന്നു.

¹⁵വിശ്രാമം നല്ലതെന്നും ദേശം ഇമ്പമുള്ളതെന്നും കണ്ടു, അവൻ ചുമടിന്നു ചുമൽ കൊടുത്തു ഊഴിയത്തിന്നു ദാസനായ്തീർന്നു.

¹⁶So the steward took away their delicacies and the wine that they were given to drink, and gave them vegetables.

¹⁷Now as for these four youths, God gave them knowledge and skill in all learning and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams.

¹⁸At the end of the days which the king had appointed for bringing them in, the prince of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar.

¹⁹The king talked with them; and among them all was found no one like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore they stood before the king.

²⁰In every matter of wisdom and understanding concerning which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters who were in all his realm.

¹⁶അങ്ങനെ മെൽസർ അവരുടെ ഭോജനവും അവർ കുടിക്കേണ്ടുന്ന വീഞ്ഞും നീക്കി അവർക്കും ശാകപദാർത്ഥം കൊടുത്തു.

¹⁸അവരെ സന്നിധിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ രാജാവു കല്പിച്ചിരുന്ന കാലം തികഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ഷണ്ഡാധിപൻ അവരെ നെബൂഖദ് നേസരിന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു.

¹⁹രാജാവു അവരോടു സംസാരിച്ചാറെ അവരിൽ എല്ലാവരിലും വെച്ചു ദാനീയേൽ, ഹനന്യാവു, മീശായേൽ, അസർയ്യാവു എന്നിവർക്കും തുല്യമായി ഒരുത്തനെയും കണ്ടില്ല; അവർ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ ശുശ്രൂഷെക്കു നിന്നു.

²⁰രാജാവു അവരോടു ജ്ഞാനവിവേകസംബന്ധമായി ചോദിച്ചതിൽ ഒക്കെയും അവരെ തന്റെ രാജ്യത്തെല്ലാടവുമുള്ള സകല മന്ത്രവാദികളിലും ആഭിചാരകന്മാരിലും പത്തിരട്ടി വിശിഷ്ടന്മാരെന്നു കണ്ടു.

¹But in the latter days,

²Many nations will go and say,

³and he will judge between many peoples,

⁴But every man will sit under his vine and under his fig tree.

⁵Indeed all the nations may walk in the name of their gods,

¹അന്ത്യകാലത്തു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയം ഉള്ള പർവ്വതം പർവ്വതങ്ങളുടെ ശിഖരത്തിൽ സ്ഥാപിതവും കുന്നുകൾക്കു മീതെ ഉന്നതവുമായിരിക്കും; ജാതികൾ അതിലേക്കു ഒഴുകിച്ചെല്ലും.

²അനേകവംശങ്ങളും ചെന്നു: വരുവിൻ , നമുക്കു യഹോവയുടെ പർവ്വതത്തിലേക്കും യാക്കോബിൻ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കും കയറിച്ചെല്ലാം; അവൻ നമുക്കു തന്റെ വഴികളെ ഉപദേശിച്ചുതരികയും നാം അവന്റെ പാതകളിൽ നടക്കയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറയും. സീയോനിൽനിന്നു ഉപദേശവും യെരൂശലേമിൽനിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ വചനവും പുറപ്പെടും.

³അവൻ അനേകജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ന്യായംവിധിക്കയും ബഹുവംശങ്ങൾക്കു ദൂരത്തോളം വിധി കല്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യും; അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ വാളുകളെ കൊഴുക്കളായും കുന്തങ്ങളെ വാക്കത്തികളായും അടിച്ചുതീർക്കും; ജാതി ജാതിക്കുനേരെ വാൾ ഔങ്ങുകയില്ല; അവർ ഇനി യുദ്ധം അഭ്യസിക്കയുമില്ല.

⁴അവർ ഔരോരുത്തൻ താന്താന്റെ മുന്തിരിവള്ളിയുടെ കീഴിലും അത്തിവൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ കീഴിലും പാർക്കും; ആരും അവരെ ഭയപ്പെടുത്തുകയില്ല; സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയുടെ വായ് അതു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁵സകല ജാതികളും താന്താങ്ങളുടെ ദേവന്മാരുടെ നാമത്തിൽ നടക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; നാമും നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ എന്നും എന്നെന്നേക്കും നടക്കും.

⁴The king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there, for that was the great high place. Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar.

⁵In Gibeon, Yahweh appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask for what I should give you.”

⁶Solomon said, “You have shown to your servant David my father great loving kindness, because he walked before you in truth, in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with you. You have kept for him this great loving kindness, that you have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is today.

⁷Now, Yahweh my God, you have made your servant king instead of David my father. I am just a little child. I don’t know how to go out or come in.

⁸Your servant is among your people which you have chosen, a great people, that can’t be numbered or counted for multitude.

⁹Give your servant therefore an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this great people of yours?”

¹⁰This request pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.

¹¹God said to him, “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked for yourself long life, nor have you asked for riches for yourself, nor have you asked for the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice,

¹²behold, I have done according to your word. Behold, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has been no one like you before you, and after you none will arise like you.

¹³I have also given you that which you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that there will not be any among the kings like you for all your days.

¹⁴If you will walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.”

⁴രാജാവു ഗിബെയോനിൽ യാഗം കഴിപ്പാൻ പോയി; അതു പ്രധാനപൂജാഗിരിയായിരുന്നു; അവിടത്തെ യാഗപീഠത്തിന്മേൽ ശലോമോൻ ആയിരം ഹോമയാഗം അർപ്പിച്ചു.

⁵ഗിബെയോനിൽവെച്ചു യഹോവ രാത്രിയിൽ ശലോമോന്നു സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി; നിനക്കു വേണ്ടുന്ന വരം ചോദിച്ചുകൊൾക എന്നു ദൈവം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

⁶അതിന്നു ശലോമോൻ പറഞ്ഞതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: എന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദ് എന്ന നിന്റെ ദാസൻ സത്യത്തോടും നീതിയോടും ഹൃദയപരമാർത്ഥതയോടും കൂടെ നിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നടന്നതിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം നീ അവന്നു വലിയ കൃപ ചെയ്തു ഈ വലിയ കൃപ അവന്നായി പാലിക്കയും ഇന്നുള്ളതുപോലെ അവന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തിൽ ഇരിപ്പാൻ അവന്നു ഒരു മകനെ നലകുകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

⁷എന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവേ, നീ അടിയനെ ഇപ്പോൾ എന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദിന്നു പകരം രാജാവാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ഞാനോ ഒരു ബാലനത്രേ; കാര്യാദികൾ നടത്തുവാൻ എനിക്കു അറിവില്ല.

⁸നീ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തതും പെരുപ്പംനിമിത്തം എണ്ണവും കണക്കും ഇല്ലാത്തതുമായി വലിയോരു മഹാജാതിയായ നിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ അടിയൻ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

⁹ആകയാൽ ഗുണവും ദോഷവും തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞു നിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്നു ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്‍വാൻ വിവേകമുള്ളോരു ഹൃദയം എനിക്കു തരേണമേ; അതുകൂടാതെ നിന്റെ ഈ വലിയ ജനത്തിന്നു ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്‍വാൻ ആർക്കും കഴിയും.

¹⁰ശലോമോൻ ഈ കാര്യം ചോദിച്ചതു കർത്താവിന്നു പ്രസാദമായി.

¹¹ദൈവം അവനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: നീ ദീർഘായുസ്സോ സമ്പത്തോ ശത്രുസംഹാരമോ ഒന്നും അപേക്ഷിക്കാതെ ന്യായപാലനത്തിന്നുള്ള വിവേകം എന്ന ഈ കാര്യം മാത്രം അപേക്ഷിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു

¹²ഞാൻ നിന്റെ അപേക്ഷപ്രകാരം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ജ്ഞാനവും വിവേകമുള്ളോരു ഹൃദയം ഞാൻ നിനക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നിനക്കു സമനായവൻ നിനക്കു മുമ്പു ഉണ്ടായിട്ടില്ല; നിനക്കു സമനായവൻ നിന്റെശേഷം ഉണ്ടാകയും ഇല്ല.

¹³ഇതിന്നുപുറമെ, നീ അപേക്ഷിക്കാത്തതായ സമ്പത്തും മഹത്വവും കൂടെ ഞാൻ നിനക്കു തന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലത്തൊക്കെയും രാജാക്കന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തനും നിനക്കു സമനാകയില്ല.

¹⁴നിന്റെ അപ്പനായ ദാവീദ് നടന്നതുപോലെ നീ എന്റെ ചട്ടങ്ങളും കല്പനകളും പ്രമാണിച്ചു എന്റെ വഴികളിൽ നടന്നാൽ ഞാൻ നിനക്കു ദീർഘായുസ്സും തരും.

¹¹In that day you will not be disappointed for all your doings in which you have transgressed against me; for then I will take away out from among you your proudly exulting ones, and you will no more be arrogant in my holy mountain.

¹²But I will leave among you an afflicted and poor people, and they will take refuge in Yahweh’s name.

¹³The remnant of Israel will not do iniquity nor speak lies, neither will a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth, for they will feed and lie down, and no one will make them afraid.”

¹⁴Sing, daughter of Zion! Shout, Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, daughter of Jerusalem.

¹⁵Yahweh has taken away your judgments. He has thrown out your enemy. The King of Israel, Yahweh, is among you. You will not be afraid of evil any more.

¹⁶In that day, it will be said to Jerusalem, “Don’t be afraid, Zion. Don’t let your hands be weak.”

¹⁷Yahweh, your God, is among you, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing.

¹⁸I will remove those who grieve about the appointed feasts from you. They are a burden and a reproach to you.

¹⁹Behold, at that time I will deal with all those who afflict you; and I will save those who are lame and gather those who were driven away. I will give them praise and honor, whose shame has been in all the earth.

²⁰At that time I will bring you in, and at that time I will gather you; for I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your eyes, says Yahweh.

¹¹അന്നാളിൽ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേനിന്നു നിന്റെ ഗർവ്വോല്ലസിതന്മാരെ നീക്കിക്കളയും നീ എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധപർവ്വതത്തിൽ ഇനി ഗർവ്വിക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു നീ എന്നോടു അതിക്രമമായി ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്ന സകലപ്രവൃത്തികളും നിമിത്തം നീ അന്നാളിൽ ലജ്ജിക്കേണ്ടിവരികയില്ല.

¹²ഞാൻ നിന്റെ നടുവിൽ താഴ്മയും ദാരിദ്ര്യവും ഉള്ളോരു ജനത്തെ ശേഷിപ്പിക്കും; അവർ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ ശരണം പ്രാപിക്കും.

¹³യിസ്രായേലിൽ ശേഷിപ്പുള്ളവർ നീതികേടു പ്രവർത്തിക്കയില്ല; ഭോഷകുപറകയുമില്ല; ചതിവുള്ള നാവു അവരുടെ വായിൽ ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; അവർ മേഞ്ഞുകിടക്കും; ആരും അവരെ ഭയപ്പെടുത്തുകയുമില്ല.

¹⁴സീയോൻ പുത്രിയേ, ഘോഷിച്ചാനന്ദിക്ക; യിസ്രായേലേ, ആർപ്പിടുക; യെരൂശലേം പുത്രിയേ, പൂർണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടെ സന്തോഷിച്ചുല്ലസിക്ക.

¹⁵യഹോവ നിന്റെ ന്യായവിധികളെ മാറ്റി, നിന്റെ ശത്രുവിനെ നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാവായ യഹോവ നിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; ഇനി നീ അനർത്ഥം കാണുകയില്ല.

¹⁶അന്നാളിൽ അവർ യെരൂശലേമിനോടു: ഭയപ്പെടരുതെന്നും സീയോനോടു: അധൈര്യപ്പെടരുതെന്നും പറയും.

¹⁷നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ രക്ഷിക്കുന്ന വീരനായി നിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ നിന്നിൽ അത്യന്തം സന്തോഷിക്കും; തന്റെ സ്നേഹത്തിൽ അവൻ മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കുന്നു; ഘോഷത്തോടെ അവൻ നിങ്കൽ ആനന്ദിക്കും.

¹⁸ലജ്ജാഭാരം വഹിച്ചവളായ നിനക്കുള്ളവരായി സംഘത്തെ വിട്ടു ദുഃഖിക്കുന്നവരെ ഞാൻ ചേർത്തുകൊള്ളും.

¹⁹നിന്നെ ക്ളേശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഏവരോടും ഞാൻ ആ കാലത്തു ഇടപെടും; മുടന്തിനടക്കുന്നതിനെ ഞാൻ രക്ഷിക്കയും ചിതറിപ്പോയതിനെ ശേഖരിക്കയും സർവ്വഭൂമിയിലും ലജ്ജനേരിട്ടവരെ പ്രശംസയും കീർത്തിയുമാക്കിത്തീർക്കുംകയും ചെയ്യും.

²⁰ആ കാലത്തു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ വരുത്തുകയും ആ കാലത്തു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ശേഖരിക്കയും ചെയ്യും; നിങ്ങൾ കാൺകെ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവാസികളെ മടക്കിവരുത്തുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലജാതികളുടെയും ഇടയിൽ കീർത്തിയും പ്രശംസയും ആക്കിത്തീർക്കുംമെന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു.

¹⁸Yahweh says:

¹⁹Thanksgiving will proceed out of them

²⁰Their children also will be as before,

²¹Their prince will be one of them,

²²“You shall be my people,

¹⁸യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ഞാൻ യാക്കോബിൻ കൂടാരങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവാസം മാറ്റി അവന്റെ നിവാസങ്ങളോടു കരുണ കാണിക്കും; നഗരം അതിന്റെ കൽക്കുന്നിന്മേൽ പണിയപ്പെടും; അരമനയും യഥാസ്ഥാനപ്പെടും.

¹⁹അവയിൽനിന്നു സ്തോത്രവും സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നവരുടെ ഘോഷവും പുറപ്പെടും; ഞാൻ അവരെ വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കും; അവർ കുറഞ്ഞുപോകയില്ല; ഞാൻ അവരെ മഹത്വീകരിക്കും; അവർ എളിമപ്പെടുകയുമില്ല.

²⁰അവരുടെ മക്കളും പണ്ടത്തെപ്പോലെയാകും; അവരുടെ സഭ എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിലനിലക്കും; അവരെ ഉപദ്രവിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവരെയും ഞാൻ സന്ദർശിക്കും.

²¹അവരുടെ പ്രഭു അവരിൽനിന്നു തന്നെ ഉണ്ടാകും; അവരുടെ അധിപതി അവരുടെ നടുവിൽനിന്നു ഉത്ഭവിക്കും; ഞാൻ അവനെ അടുപ്പിക്കും; അവൻ എന്നോടു അടുക്കും; അല്ലാതെ എന്നോടു അടുപ്പാൻ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുന്നവൻ ആർ? എന്നു യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാടു.

²²അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കു ജനമായും ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ദൈവമായും ഇരിക്കും.

¹Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God. Whoever loves the Father also loves the child who is born of him.

²By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and keep his commandments.

³For this is loving God, that we keep his commandments. His commandments are not grievous.

⁴For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world: your faith.

⁵Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

⁶This is he who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ; not with the water only, but with the water and the blood. It is the Spirit who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.

⁷For there are three who testify:

⁸the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and the three agree as one.

⁹If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater; for this is God’s testimony which he has testified concerning his Son.

¹⁰He who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. He who doesn’t believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning his Son.

¹¹The testimony is this: that God gave to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.

¹²He who has the Son has the life. He who doesn’t have God’s Son doesn’t have the life.

¹യേശുവിനെ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നു ജനിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. ജനിപ്പിച്ചവനെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം അവനിൽനിന്നു ജനിച്ചവനെയും സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു.

²നാം ദൈവത്തെ സ്നേഹിച്ചു അവന്റെ കല്പനകളെ അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കുമ്പോൾ ദൈവമക്കളെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അതിനാൽ അറിയാം.

³അവന്റെ കല്പനകളെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നതല്ലോ ദൈവത്തോടുള്ള സ്നേഹം; അവന്റെ കല്പനകൾ ഭാരമുള്ളവയല്ല.

⁴ദൈവത്തിൽനിന്നു ജനിച്ചതൊക്കെയും ലോകത്തെ ജയിക്കുന്നു; ലോകത്തെ ജയിച്ച ജയമോ നമ്മുടെ വിശ്വാസം തന്നേ.

⁵യേശു ദൈവപുത്രൻ എന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവൻ അല്ലാതെ ആരാകുന്നു ലോകത്തെ ജയിക്കുന്നവൻ?

⁶ജലത്താലും രക്തത്താലും വന്നവൻ ഇവൻ ആകുന്നു: യേശുക്രിസ്തു തന്നേ; ജലത്താൽ മാത്രമല്ല, ജലത്താലും രക്തത്താലും തന്നേ.

⁷ആത്മാവും സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നു; ആത്മാവു സത്യമല്ലോ.

⁸സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നവർ മൂവർ ഉണ്ടു: ആത്മാവു, ജലം, രക്തം; ഈ മൂന്നിന്റെയും സാക്ഷ്യം ഒന്നുതന്നേ.

⁹നാം മനുഷ്യരുടെ സാക്ഷ്യം കൈക്കൊള്ളുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യം അതിലും വലുതാകുന്നു. ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യമോ അവൻ തന്റെ പുത്രനെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതു തന്നേ.

¹⁰ദൈവപുത്രനിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന്നു ഉള്ളിൽ ആ സാക്ഷ്യം ഉണ്ടു. ദൈവത്തെ വിശ്വസിക്കാത്തവൻ ദൈവം തന്റെ പുത്രനെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞ സാക്ഷ്യം വിശ്വസിക്കായ്കയാൽ അവനെ അസത്യവാദിയാക്കുന്നു.

¹¹ആ സാക്ഷ്യമോ ദൈവം നമുക്കു നിത്യജീവൻ തന്നു; ആ ജീവൻ അവന്റെ പുത്രനിൽ ഉണ്ടു എന്നുള്ളതു തന്നേ.

¹²പുത്രനുള്ളവന്നു ജീവൻ ഉണ്ടു; ദൈവപുത്രനില്ലാത്തവന്നു ജീവൻ ഇല്ല.

¹⁸For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us.

¹⁹For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.

²⁰For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in hope

²¹that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.

²²For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.

²³Not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for adoption, the redemption of our body.

²⁴For we were saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees?

²⁵But if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience.

¹⁸നമ്മിൽ വെളിപ്പെടുവാനുള്ള തേജസ്സു വിചാരിച്ചാൽ ഈ കാലത്തിലെ കഷ്ടങ്ങൾ സാരമില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ എണ്ണുന്നു.

¹⁹സൃഷ്ടി ദൈവപുത്രന്മാരുടെ വെളിപ്പാടിനെ ആകാംക്ഷയോടെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

²⁰സൃഷ്ടി ദ്രവത്വത്തിന്റെ ദാസ്യത്തിൽനിന്നു വിടുതലും ദൈവമക്കളുടെ തേജസ്സാകുന്ന സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യവും പ്രാപിക്കും എന്നുള്ള ആശയോടെ മായെക്കു കീഴ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു;

²¹മന:പൂർവ്വമായിട്ടല്ല, അതിനെ കീഴ്പെടുത്തിയവന്റെ കല്പനനിമിത്തമത്രേ.

²²സർവ്വസൃഷ്ടിയും ഇന്നുവരെ ഒരുപോലെ ഞരങ്ങി ഈറ്റുനോവോടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു നാം അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

²³ആത്മാവെന്ന ആദ്യ ദാനം ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന നാമും നമ്മുടെ ശരീരത്തിന്റെ വീണ്ടെടുപ്പായ പുത്രത്വത്തിന്നു കാത്തുകൊണ്ടു ഉള്ളിൽ ഞരങ്ങുന്നു.

²⁴പ്രത്യാശയാലല്ലോ നാം രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടിരിക്കുന്നതു. കാണുന്ന പ്രത്യാശയോ പ്രത്യാശയല്ല; ഒരുത്തൻ കാണുന്നതിന്നായി ഇനി പ്രത്യാശിക്കുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു?

²⁵നാം കാണാത്തതിന്നായി പ്രത്യാശിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലോ അതിന്നായി ക്ഷമയോടെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹²On the next day a great multitude had come to the feast. When they heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,

¹³they took the branches of the palm trees and went out to meet him, and cried out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, the King of Israel!”

¹⁴Jesus, having found a young donkey, sat on it. As it is written,

¹⁵“Don’t be afraid, daughter of Zion. Behold, your King comes, sitting on a donkey’s colt.”

¹⁶His disciples didn’t understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written about him, and that they had done these things to him.

¹⁷The multitude therefore that was with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead was testifying about it.

¹⁸For this cause also the multitude went and met him, because they heard that he had done this sign.

¹⁹The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, “See how you accomplish nothing. Behold, the world has gone after him.”

¹²പിറ്റേന്നു പെരുന്നാൾക്കു വന്നോരു വലിയ പുരുഷാരം യേശു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു വരുന്നു എന്നു കേട്ടിട്ടു

¹³ഈത്തപ്പനയുടെ കുരുത്തോല എടുത്തുംകൊണ്ടു അവനെ എതിരേല്പാൻ ചെന്നു: ഹോശന്നാ, യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാവായി കർത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വരുന്നവൻ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ എന്നു ആർത്തു.

¹⁴യേശു ഒരു ചെറിയ കഴുതയെ കണ്ടിട്ടു അതിന്മേൽ കയറി.

¹⁵“സീയോൻ പുത്രി, ഭയപ്പെടേണ്ടാ; ഇതാ നിന്റെ രാജാവു കഴുതകൂട്ടിപ്പുറത്തു കയറിവരുന്നു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ തന്നേ.

²⁸Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.

²⁹When he came near to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the mountain that is called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples,

³⁰saying, “Go your way into the village on the other side, in which, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, which no man has ever sat upon. Untie it and bring it.

³¹If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say to him: ‘The Lord needs it.’ ”

³²Those who were sent went away and found things just as he had told them.

³³As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”

³⁴They said, “The Lord needs it.”

³⁵Then they brought it to Jesus. They threw their cloaks on the colt and sat Jesus on them.

³⁶As he went, they spread their cloaks on the road.

³⁷As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen,

³⁸saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!”

³⁹Some of the Pharisees from the multitude said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”

⁴⁰He answered them, “I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out.”

²⁸ഇതു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവൻ മുമ്പായി നടന്നുകൊണ്ടു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു യാത്ര ചെയ്തു.

²⁹അവൻ ഒലീവ് മലയരികെ ബേത്ത്ഫാഗെക്കും ബേഥാന്യെക്കും സമീപിച്ചപ്പോൾ ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ രണ്ടുപേരെ അയച്ചു:

³⁰നിങ്ങൾക്കു എതിരെയുള്ള ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ ചെല്ലുവിൻ ; അതിൽ കടക്കുമ്പോൾ ആരും ഒരിക്കലും കയറീട്ടില്ലാത്ത ഒരു കഴുതകൂട്ടിയെ കെട്ടീയിരിക്കുന്നതു കാണും; അതിനെ അഴിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുവരുവിൻ .

³¹അതിനെ അഴിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ആരെങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളോടു ചോദിച്ചാൽ: കർത്താവിന്നു ഇതിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁴കർത്താവിനു ഇതിനെക്കൊണ്ടു ആവശ്യം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁵അതിനെ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം കഴുതകൂട്ടിമേൽ ഇട്ടു യേശുവിനെ കയറ്റി.

³⁶അവൻ പോകുമ്പോൾ അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം വഴിയിൽ വിരിച്ചു.

³⁷അവൻ ഒലീവുമലയുടെ ഇറക്കത്തിന്നു അടുത്തപ്പോൾ ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടം എല്ലാം തങ്ങൾ കണ്ട സകല വീര്യപ്രവൃത്തികളെയും കുറിച്ചു സന്തോഷിച്ചു അത്യുച്ചത്തിൽ ദൈവത്തെ പുകഴ്ത്തി:

³⁸കർത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വരുന്ന രാജാവു വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ ; സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ സമാധാനവും അത്യുന്നതങ്ങളിൽ മഹത്വവും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

³⁹പുരുഷാരത്തിൽ ചില പരീശന്മാരോ അവനോടു: ഗുരോ, നിന്റെ ശീഷ്യന്മാരെ വിലക്കുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

⁴⁰അതിന്നു അവൻ : ഇവർ മണ്ടാതിരുന്നാൽ കല്ലുകൾ ആർത്തുവിളിക്കും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

¹²Turn to the stronghold, you prisoners of hope!

¹¹നീയോ--നിന്റെ നിയമരക്തം ഹേതുവായി ഞാൻ നിന്റെ ബദ്ധന്മാരെ വെള്ളമില്ലാത്ത കുഴിയിൽനിന്നു വിട്ടയക്കും.

¹²പ്രത്യാശയുള്ള ബദ്ധന്മാരേ, കോട്ടയിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിവരുവിൻ ; ഞാൻ നിനക്കു ഇരട്ടിയായി പകരം നലകും എന്നു ഞാൻ ഇന്നു തന്നേ പ്രസ്താവിക്കുന്നു.

⁹Awake, awake, put on strength, arm of Yahweh!

¹⁰Isn’t it you who dried up the sea,

¹¹Those ransomed by Yahweh will return,

⁹യഹോവയുടെ ഭുജമേ ഉണരുക, ഉണരുക; ശക്തി ധരിച്ചുകൊൾക; പൂർ‍വ്വകാലത്തും പണ്ടത്തെ തലമുറകളിലും എന്നപോലെ ഉണരുക; രഹബിനെ വെട്ടി മഹാസർ‍പ്പത്തെ കുത്തിക്കളഞ്ഞതു നീ അല്ലയോ?

¹⁰സമുദ്രത്തെ, വലിയ ആഴിയിലെ വെള്ളങ്ങളെ തന്നേ, വറ്റിച്ചുകളകയും വീണ്ടേടുക്കപ്പെട്ടവർ‍ കടന്നുപോകേണ്ടതിന്നു സമുദ്രത്തിന്റെ ആഴത്തെ വഴിയാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതു നീയല്ലയോ?

¹¹യഹോവയുടെ വിമുക്തന്മാർ‍ ഉല്ലാസഘോഷത്തോടെ സീയോനിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിവരും; നിത്യാനൻ ദം അവരുടെ തലയിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും; അവർ‍ ആനൻ ദവും സന്തോഷവും പ്രാപിക്കും; ദുഃഖവും ഞരക്കവും ഔടിപ്പോകും

⁷Brothers, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment which you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the beginning.

⁸Again, I write a new commandment to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light already shines.

⁹He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in the darkness even until now.

¹⁰He who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no occasion for stumbling in him.

¹¹But he who hates his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness, and doesn’t know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.

¹²I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.

¹³I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning.

¹⁴I have written to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning.

⁷പ്രിയമുള്ളവരേ, പുതിയോരു കല്പനയല്ല ആദിമുതൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള പഴയ കല്പനയത്രേ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എഴുതുന്നതു. ആ പഴയ കല്പന നിങ്ങൾ കേട്ട വചനം തന്നേ.

⁸പുതിയോരു കല്പന ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എഴുതുന്നു എന്നും പറയാം. അതു അവനിലും നിങ്ങളിലും സത്യമായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇരുട്ടു നീങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നു; സത്യവെളിച്ചം ഇതാ പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നു.

⁹വെളിച്ചത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറകയും സഹോദരനെ പകെക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ ഇന്നെയോളം ഇരുട്ടിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

¹¹സഹോദരനെ പകെക്കുന്നവനോ ഇരുട്ടിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; ഇരുട്ടിൽ നടക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഇരുട്ടു അവന്റെ കണ്ണു കുരുടാക്കുകയാൽ എവിടേക്കു പോകുന്നു എന്നു അവൻ അറിയുന്നില്ല.

¹⁴പിതാക്കന്മാരേ, ആദിമുതലുള്ളവനെ നിങ്ങൾ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കയാൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ബാല്യക്കാരേ, നിങ്ങൾ ശക്തരാകയാലും ദൈവവചനം നിങ്ങളിൽ വസിക്കയാലും നിങ്ങൾ ദുഷ്ടനെ ജയിച്ചിരിക്കയാലും ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

¹³For I speak to you who are Gentiles. Since then as I am an apostle to Gentiles, I glorify my ministry,

¹⁴if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh, and may save some of them.

¹⁵For if the rejection of them is the reconciling of the world, what would their acceptance be, but life from the dead?

¹⁶If the first fruit is holy, so is the lump. If the root is holy, so are the branches.

¹⁷But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the root and of the richness of the olive tree,

¹⁸don’t boast over the branches. But if you boast, remember that it is not you who support the root, but the root supports you.

¹⁹You will say then, “Branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.”

²⁰True; by their unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by your faith. Don’t be conceited, but fear;

²¹for if God didn’t spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you.

²²See then the goodness and severity of God. Toward those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in his goodness; otherwise you also will be cut off.

²³They also, if they don’t continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.

²⁴For if you were cut out of that which is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree, how much more will these, which are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

¹When they came near to Jerusalem, to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples

²and said to them, “Go your way into the village that is opposite you. Immediately as you enter into it, you will find a young donkey tied, on which no one has sat. Untie him and bring him.

³If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you doing this?’ say, ‘The Lord needs him;’ and immediately he will send him back here.”

⁴They went away, and found a young donkey tied at the door outside in the open street, and they untied him.

⁵Some of those who stood there asked them, “What are you doing, untying the young donkey?”

⁶They said to them just as Jesus had said, and they let them go.

⁷They brought the young donkey to Jesus and threw their garments on it, and Jesus sat on it.

⁸Many spread their garments on the way, and others were cutting down branches from the trees and spreading them on the road.

⁹Those who went in front and those who followed cried out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!

¹⁰Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is coming in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

¹¹Jesus entered into the temple in Jerusalem. When he had looked around at everything, it being now evening, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.

¹അവർ യെരൂശലേമിനോടു സമീപിച്ചു ഒലീവ് മലയരികെ ബേത്ത്ഫാഗയിലും ബേഥാന്യയിലും എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ രണ്ടുപേരെ അയച്ചു അവരോടു:

⁴അവർ പോയി തെരുവിൽ പുറത്തു വാതിൽക്കൽ കഴുതകൂട്ടിയെ കെട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു അതിനെ അഴിച്ചു.

⁵അവിടെ നിന്നവരിൽ ചിലർ അവരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ കഴുതകൂട്ടിയെ അഴിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

⁶യേശു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവർ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു; അവർ അവരെ വിട്ടയച്ചു.

⁷അവർ കഴുതകൂട്ടിയെ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം അതിന്മേൽ ഇട്ടു; അവൻ അതിന്മേൽ കയറി ഇരുന്നു.

⁸അനേകർ തങ്ങളുടെ വസ്ത്രം വഴിയിൽ വിരിച്ചു; മറ്റു ചിലർ പറമ്പുകളിൽ നിന്നു ചില്ലിക്കൊമ്പു വെട്ടി വഴിയിൽ വിതറി.

⁹മുമ്പും പിമ്പും നടക്കുന്നവർ: ഹോശന്നാ, കർത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വരുന്നവൻ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ടവൻ :

¹⁰വരുന്നതായ രാജ്യം, നമ്മുടെ പിതാവായ ദാവീദിന്റെ രാജ്യം വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെടുമാറാകട്ടെ; അത്യുന്നതങ്ങളിൽ ഹോശന്നാ എന്നു ആർത്തുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

¹¹അവൻ യെരൂശലേമിൽ ദൈവാലയത്തിലേക്കു ചെന്നു സകലവും ചുറ്റും നോക്കിയ ശേഷം നേരം വൈകിയതുകൊണ്ടു പന്തിരുവരോടും കൂടെ ബേഥാന്യയിലേക്കു പോയി.
